Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Euro Pro Shark UV615 Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (XBP615)
This is a 7.2V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Euro Pro Shark UV615 handheld UV sanitizing vacuum cleaner. It fits the UV615, UV615H, UV615K, and UV627. The battery powers both the motor and the UV sanitizing light — both functions draw from the same cell pack.
- UV615 series compatibility: The UV615, UV615H, UV615K, and UV627 share the same 7.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping between these models does not require any adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the UV615 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the charger, the UV light activated at startup, and the motor drew within rated current limits under load.
- Dock charging behaviour on the UV615: Remove this battery from the charging dock once the indicator shows full. Leaving the UV615 docked continuously accelerates capacity fade in Ni-MH cells. Charge only when depleted, then disconnect.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the UV615
Ni-MH cells lose voltage under sustained motor load before the indicator registers a low reading. On the UV615, the motor and UV lamp compete for current — a partially degraded pack will sag under that combined draw. The indicator reads cell voltage at rest, not under load, so it lags behind actual available power. If suction drops noticeably before any low warning, the cell pack capacity has faded and replacement is the fix.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When suction is restricted — a clogged filter is the most common cause — the motor works harder and draws current above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets once current drops. Check and clean the filter first. If the cutout continues with a clean filter, the cell pack voltage under load has dropped below the BMS recovery floor — replace the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Shark UV615 lose suction partway through cleaning even though the battery light isn't showing low?
Ni-MH cells voltage-sag under motor load before the indicator catches up — the indicator reads resting voltage, not load voltage. When the cell pack ages, it can no longer sustain the current the motor needs under normal use, so suction drops while the light still reads fine. Check the filter first — a blocked filter forces the motor to draw harder and worsens sag on a marginal pack. If the filter is clear and suction still fades early, the cell capacity has degraded and the battery needs replacing.
My UV615 motor shuts off suddenly during use but comes back on after I wait a minute — what's happening?
The BMS is tripping on overcurrent and resetting. When airflow is restricted — usually a dirty filter or a blockage in the nozzle — motor current spikes above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets once the current demand drops. Clean the filter and clear any blockage first. If the cutout continues with unrestricted airflow, the pack can no longer hold voltage above 6.0V under load and should be replaced.
My replacement UV615 battery charges but the UV light doesn't activate at startup — is the battery at fault?
The UV lamp and motor both draw from the same cell pack. If the lamp fails to activate while the motor runs, the pack voltage under combined load has likely dropped below the threshold the lamp circuit needs to trigger. We confirmed on the bench that a fully charged, healthy XBP615 pack activates both functions simultaneously. Charge the replacement fully before the first use, then test — if the lamp still won't fire, verify the charger output is reaching 8.6–9.0V at end of charge, which confirms the cells are accepting a full charge cycle.
