Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark IC205 Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XBAT200)
This is a 25.2V 2400mAh Li-ion battery for the Shark IC205, IC205CCO, IC200C, IC200W, and over 55 compatible cordless stick and handheld vacuum models. It slots into the same battery housing as the original XBAT200 and XBAT200EU units. Capacity figure is taken directly from the product specification — 2400mAh / 60.48Wh.
- IC200 and IC205 platform fit: These models share a common 25.2V battery rail, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why one battery covers the full range. Swapping between IC200C and IC205CCO requires no adjustment.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the IC205 platform. The BMS handled motor-start inrush without tripping and held the voltage rail steady under sustained floor-cleaning draw.
- Dock charging habit on the IC205: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the dock permanently. Shark cordless vacuums on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade faster than units charged only when the battery is depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the IC205
This happens when the motor is working harder than rated — usually because airflow is restricted before the battery is actually low. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current, which pulls the voltage rail down faster. The BMS reads the voltage drop and reduces output to protect the cell, which the user feels as lost suction. Clear the filter and check the dust cup seal before concluding the battery is at fault.
Motor cutting out mid-clean then recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a restriction — dense carpet pile, a blocked nozzle, or a clogged post-filter — current draw spikes past the BMS threshold and the circuit opens. The BMS resets itself after a short cool-down, which is why the vacuum restarts on its own. Fix the restriction first; if trips continue on an unobstructed surface, check that the battery voltage reads at or above 22V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Shark IC205 has noticeably less cleaning time than it used to — is that the battery or something else?
A partially blocked filter is the first thing to check — it forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which drains the cell faster. If the filter is clean and the problem persists, the cell itself has likely lost capacity from repeated shallow cycles or continuous dock charging. A replacement cell at full 2400mAh capacity will restore normal draw, but only if the filter restriction is cleared first. Check the filter, then charge the new battery fully before the first use run.
My Shark IC205 won't charge after fitting the replacement battery — the dock light just blinks or stays off.
The IC205 charger performs a BMS handshake before initiating the charge cycle — if the replacement cell arrives in a deeply discharged state, the charger may not recognise it. Leave the battery connected to the dock for 15–20 minutes without interruption; most BMS units will wake from deep sleep and allow the handshake to complete. If the dock light still does not respond, check that the battery contacts are fully seated and free of debris. A successful handshake will show a steady or pulsing charge indicator within 30 minutes.
I left my Shark IC205 on the dock for weeks and now it barely holds a charge — what happened?
Continuous dock charging keeps the cell near 100% with a low trickle current passing through it indefinitely, which accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. This is one of the fastest ways to degrade a cordless vacuum battery. The new XBAT200 replacement cell starts fresh, but the same damage will recur if the habit continues. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and only return it when the battery is depleted.
