Fits Shark SV735 cordless stick vacuum, replaces OEM part number 1028FK.
9.6V 2000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers steady voltage to the motor under load without the voltage sag that reduces suction on worn batteries.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot on the SV735 handle with a single locking tab at the base — confirm the tab seats fully before use.
We bench-tested this cell on a Shark SV735 motor load and verified the BMS accepted the pack without fault codes; voltage held steady under sustained draw.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH packs on trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than those removed when full and charged only when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark SV735 — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (1028FK)

This is a 9.6V Ni-MH battery pack rated at 2000mAh (19.2Wh), built to fit the Shark SV735 cordless stick vacuum. It replaces OEM part 1028FK when the original cell no longer holds a charge or powers the motor through a full cleaning cycle. Swap it in and the vacuum returns to full cordless operation.

  • SV735 platform fit: The SV735 uses a 9.6V Ni-MH pack with a specific connector orientation and cell count. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector, so the vacuum's motor circuit and charge contacts engage correctly without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the SV735 platform. The BMS held the cutoff voltage correctly under motor load, and the charger accepted the pack without handshake errors across multiple cycles.
  • Dock charging discipline on the SV735: The SV735 charging dock does not cut power once the pack is full. Leaving the vacuum docked continuously forces a trickle charge into the Ni-MH cells, which accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the SV735

This happens when the motor draws more current than rated due to a restricted airflow path — blocked filters are the most common cause. The pack voltage sags under that elevated draw, and the motor slows before the battery indicator registers a low-charge state. The indicator reads cell voltage at rest, not under load, so the two can diverge significantly. Clean or replace the foam and felt filters first, then retest; motor speed should stabilise through the full charge cycle.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — clogged filter, blocked nozzle, or dense carpet pile — the motor pulls sustained high current and the BMS cuts output to protect the cells. The pack recovers once current demand drops, which is why the motor restarts after a pause. Clear the blockage and check the filter condition; if the cutout stops occurring after that, the pack is functioning correctly. If it trips on an unobstructed hard floor, verify the pack voltage reads at least 9.0V under load with a multimeter.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark SV735 suction feels weak but the battery light still shows full — what's happening?

The battery indicator on the SV735 reads resting cell voltage, not voltage under motor load. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, causing voltage to sag mid-run even when the indicator shows full charge. The motor slows down, suction drops, but the light doesn't catch up until load is removed. Remove, clean, and dry the foam and felt filters, then retest suction on a hard floor.

My SV735 motor cuts out after 10–15 seconds on carpet and restarts when I stop — is the battery faulty?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by sustained restricted airflow, not a defective cell. Dense carpet pile or a partially blocked nozzle forces the motor to pull elevated current continuously, and the BMS shuts output to protect the pack. Once load drops, the pack recovers and the motor restarts. Clear any blockage, clean the filters, and retest — if the cutout stops on open carpet, the pack is operating correctly.

This replacement pack charges and powers on fine, but the SV735 seems to lose capacity much faster than expected after a few months — why?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause on the SV735. The dock does not terminate charge once the pack is full, so Ni-MH cells sit under a continuous trickle charge that degrades capacity over weeks. This is a charging habit issue, not a defective cell. Charge the pack to full, remove the vacuum from the dock, and only redock when the battery is depleted — capacity stability should improve noticeably within a few cycles.
