Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

UONI S1 / V980 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V, 6700mAh (96.48Wh) lithium-ion battery for the UONI S1, V980 Max, V980 Plus, and V980 Pro cordless stick vacuums. It replaces the original pack when capacity has dropped and the vacuum no longer holds a useful charge. Same voltage, same connector, same BMS interface as the factory cell.
- S1 and V980 series compatibility: These models share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One battery fits all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the V980 platform. The BMS correctly negotiated with the charger, held the 14.4V nominal rail under motor load, and triggered overcurrent protection when airflow was deliberately blocked — exactly as the original pack does.
- Dock charging behaviour on UONI vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. UONI's dock does not cut trickle current once the cell hits 100%. Leaving it docked around the clock accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — usually because a partially clogged filter forces the motor to work harder against restricted airflow. Under that extra load, the cell voltage sags below the motor controller's threshold before the fuel gauge registers as low. The vacuum feels like it's running out of charge, but the real cause is mechanical restriction. Clean or replace the HEPA filter first, then retest — suction should stabilise at higher capacity levels.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then comes back after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failing cell. When the filter is blocked or the brush roll is tangled with hair, current draw spikes beyond the pack's rated limit. The BMS shuts the output rail to protect the cells, then resets once temperature or current drops. It will keep tripping until the restriction is cleared. Remove the brush roll cover, clear any debris, and check that the post-motor filter is seated correctly before blaming the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
My UONI V980 Pro has noticeably shorter runtime after fitting the new battery — filter is clean, what else should I check?
A clean filter is the right first step, but also check the brush roll for tangled hair or fibre wrap — even partial restriction forces the motor above its rated draw and the BMS responds by reducing available current to stay within limits. Inspect the pre-motor foam filter too, not just the HEPA stage; the foam degrades and restricts airflow without looking obviously dirty. If both are clear, confirm the battery reached a full charge before first use — a cell that shipped partially discharged will show reduced capacity on early cycles. Charge to full, run it to depletion once, then charge again to let the BMS calibrate its state-of-charge reading.
The UONI S1 won't charge at all with the replacement battery installed — charger light stays off.
This points to a BMS handshake failure between the new cell and the UONI charger. Some UONI chargers expect a specific signal from the battery's thermistor pin before enabling charge current — if that pin makes poor contact or the connector isn't fully seated, the charger stays dark. Remove the battery, inspect the contact pins on both the battery and the dock for debris or bent contacts, reseat firmly, and try again. If the charger light still won't activate, test with a multimeter across the dock output terminals — you should see 16.8V with no battery present; if you do, the issue is the handshake, not the charger hardware.
My UONI V980 Max battery drains noticeably faster after leaving it on the dock for several weeks — is it the cell or the charging habit?
It is almost certainly the charging habit. UONI's dock continues to push a trickle charge after the cell reaches 100%, and sustained trickle current at full charge accelerates lithium-ion degradation — particularly at the cathode. A replacement cell will recover normal capacity, but the same pattern will repeat if it stays docked continuously. Charge the battery to full, remove it from the dock, and only redock when it needs a charge. If you store the vacuum between uses, keep the battery at roughly 50–60% state of charge — around 15.0V measured at the terminals.
