Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vileda VR201 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 10.8V 2600mAh Li-ion battery fits the Vileda VR201 robotic vacuum cleaner. It replaces the original cell when the unit stops holding a charge or cuts out mid-cycle. Capacity figure is taken directly from product data — 28.08Wh.

  • VR201 platform fit: The VR201 runs a single 10.8V Li-ion cell pack with a specific connector orientation and BMS communication line. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector, so the dock charger and onboard controller recognise the pack correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the VR201 platform. The BMS responded correctly to the dock charger handshake, accepted a full charge without error, and released current cleanly to the drive motors and suction fan under load.
  • Dock charging habit on the VR201: The VR201 is designed to return to its dock automatically, which means many units stay on charge continuously. Li-ion cells kept at 100% under trickle charge degrade faster than cells cycled normally. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next clean.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the VR201

The VR201's suction fan draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling amperage above its rated draw. The BMS reads this as an abnormal load condition and throttles output voltage to protect the cell. The result is a noticeable drop in suction well before the battery level shows critical. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest — if suction holds consistently after that, the battery is not the cause.

VR201 motor cuts out briefly then recovers during a cleaning cycle

This intermittent cutout is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When the brush roller or intake snags debris and stalls momentarily, current draw spikes sharply. The BMS interrupts output to prevent cell damage, then resets within seconds once current normalises. Clear any hair or debris wrapped around the brush roller and check the intake path — if the cutouts stop after that, the battery and BMS are functioning correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VR201 seems to run for a much shorter time than it used to — could a blocked filter cause this even with a new battery?

Yes, a restricted filter forces the drive motor and suction fan to draw more current than rated, which depletes the cell faster regardless of its condition. We confirmed this on the bench — a partially blocked filter measurably increased current draw across the full discharge cycle. Clean or replace the filter before assuming the battery is underperforming. If runtime improves after that, the filter was the cause, not the cell.

The VR201 stays on its dock all day between cleans — will that damage the new battery faster than normal use?

It will. Li-ion cells held continuously at full charge under trickle current from the dock degrade faster than cells that are charged and then disconnected. The VR201 docks automatically, so it's easy to leave it plugged in indefinitely without noticing. Once the charge cycle completes, remove the unit from the dock and only return it when the battery needs charging again.

The VR201 brush motor cut out mid-clean and then started again on its own — is the replacement battery faulty?

That self-recovering cutout is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a defective cell. When the brush roller stalls on a tangle of hair or the intake is partially blocked, current spikes sharply and the BMS interrupts output to protect the pack. It resets automatically once the load normalises. Turn the unit over, clear any debris from the brush roller and intake, then run a cleaning cycle — if the cutouts stop, the battery is fine.
