Fits Cardo G4, G9, G9x Scala Rider headsets replacing OEM part BAT00002, BAT00004, LIP451949-2HDJ, WW452050-2P, ZN452050PC-1S2P.
3.7V, 800mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 2.96Wh; powers full intercom and call cycles on Cardo wireless headsets.
Connector seats flat into Cardo battery slot with single retention tab; orientation marked on housing.
We bench-tested this pack on a G4 unit; BMS accepted charge handshake in base station without fault codes.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a complete cycle before taking calls — Cardo base stations must log the new cell to report accurate remaining talk time.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cardo G4 / G9 / Scala Rider Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BAT00002)

This 3.7V, 800mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Cardo G4, G9, G9x, and Scala Rider G4 wireless motorcycle headsets. It matches the OEM dimensions (49.20 × 19.50 × 9.20mm) and connector, so it seats without modification. When the original cell degrades and the headset stops holding charge, this restores normal operation.

  • G4, G9, G9x, and Scala Rider G4 fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full group — no variant-specific wiring differences across the listed models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles through the BMS and confirmed the protection circuit trips correctly at low-voltage cutoff. The cell accepts a full charge without thermal event and the BMS clears the fault state as expected on the Cardo charging dock.
  • First charge on the Cardo dock: Place the headset in its charging dock and run a complete charge cycle before your first call. The Cardo dock logs the new cell during that first cycle — until it does, the on-device talk-time indicator will read inaccurately.

Why the G4 cuts out mid-transmission on a fresh battery

The G4 draws current from two loads simultaneously — the audio amplifier and the Bluetooth radio. During an active intercom or call, that combined draw creates brief voltage sag at the cell terminals. On a degraded original battery, this sag trips the low-voltage cutoff and the headset drops the connection. A new cell with full capacity handles the combined load without the terminal voltage dipping below the BMS threshold, so the cutout stops.

Base station shows full charge but headset dies after a few minutes

A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6–3.7V — not at full charge. The dock's charge indicator can show complete before the cell has actually reached 4.2V if the first cycle is interrupted or the dock misreads the incoming voltage state. Pull the headset from the dock, power it off completely, reseat it, and let it run an uninterrupted charge cycle to 4.2V before use. After that first full cycle, the dock reads and charges the cell correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cardo G9 headset keeps dropping the intercom connection mid-ride even with the new battery — what's causing it?

The G9 runs the Bluetooth radio and audio amplifier simultaneously, and that combined draw causes brief voltage sag at the cell terminals. If the sag pulls terminal voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, the headset drops the connection even though the battery isn't depleted. We confirmed on the bench that a correctly seated, fully charged cell holds terminal voltage above the cutoff under combined load. Seat the battery firmly, run a full charge cycle on the Cardo dock, and confirm terminal voltage reads at or above 4.1V before riding.

The Cardo dock is flashing a charging error and won't accept the new battery — how do I fix it?

The Cardo dock completes a BMS handshake with the cell when you first seat it. If the cell arrives at storage voltage and the dock initiates a charge before the handshake completes, the dock can flag a fault and stop charging. Remove the headset, power it off fully, wait 30 seconds, then reseat it in the dock. That resets the handshake sequence and the dock should begin a normal charge cycle.

Talk time on my Scala Rider G4 is noticeably shorter than rated for the first few uses — is the battery faulty?

It isn't faulty — Li-Polymer cells need several charge and discharge cycles before they reach full usable capacity. On cycle one, the cell typically delivers 85–90% of rated capacity; by cycle three to five, it reaches the full 800mAh. Run three complete charge-to-discharge cycles on normal use and the talk time will increase with each one. If capacity is still low after five full cycles, check that the dock contacts are clean and making firm contact with the headset terminals.
