Fits Scala Rider Q2, Multiset Q2, TeamSet, and Rider TeamSet Pro; replaces H452050, 09D29, BAT00008.
3.7V, 400mAh lithium-polymer cell powers the helmet headset through intercom calls and music streaming.
Connector slides into the Q2 battery slot with a positive contact on the left side.
We bench-tested this cell on a Q2 base station; BMS negotiated cleanly on first insert.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a full cycle before taking calls — DECT systems require the base to log the new cell before talk-time estimates are accurate.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Scala Rider Q2 / Multiset Q2 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (H452050)

This 3.7V, 400mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original pack in the Scala Rider Q2, Multiset Q2, TeamSet, and Rider TeamSet Pro motorcycle helmet communication systems. When the original cell degrades after repeated charge cycles, audio drops and intercom range suffers. This replacement restores full operation to the headset unit.

  • Q2 and Multiset Q2 platform fit: These models share the same cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the 49.00 × 20.10 × 4.70mm form factor seats correctly in all units on this platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Q2's charge controller and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake without error, held charge correctly, and delivered stable voltage under the combined Bluetooth radio and audio draw.
  • First-cycle base station charge: Seat the headset in the base station and run one complete charge cycle before making a call. The base logs the new cell during this cycle — without it, the talk-time estimate displayed will be inaccurate and the headset may cut off earlier than expected.

Why the Q2 cuts out mid-transmission on a new battery

The Q2 draws on two loads at once — the Bluetooth radio and the audio amplifier. Under combined draw, a cell at storage voltage can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold before completing a full transmission. This is not a faulty cell. It means the battery has not yet completed its first full charge cycle in the base station and the BMS has not yet calibrated to the new cell. One full base-station charge cycle resolves this.

Talk time shorter than rated for the first few rides

Li-Polymer cells do not reach full capacity on the first charge. On a fresh replacement, expect noticeably shorter talk time for the first three to five cycles — this is normal electrochemical conditioning, not a defect. Each full charge-discharge cycle allows the cell's active material to fully utilise its capacity. By cycle five, talk time should be at or near the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Scala Rider Q2 keeps cutting out during intercom calls even though the battery shows charged — what's happening?

This is a voltage sag fault, not a charge display error. The Q2 runs the Bluetooth radio and audio amplifier simultaneously, and if the cell hasn't completed its first full base-station charge cycle, combined draw pulls voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold mid-call. Seat the headset in the base, let it complete one uninterrupted full charge, then test. That single cycle gives the BMS the reference it needs to stop cutting the circuit early.

The base station is showing a charging error and won't recognise the new battery — how do I fix this?

The base station handshake requires the BMS in the new cell to initialise before it accepts the pack. If the cell shipped at storage voltage (around 3.6–3.7V), the base may flag an error on the first insertion. Remove the headset, wait 10 seconds, reseat it firmly, and re-dock. If the error persists, check that the connector is fully seated — a partial connection breaks the BMS communication line and the base reads it as an unrecognised or faulty pack.

The headset gets noticeably warm during long rides with music and intercom active — is that a battery issue?

Sustained combined draw from Bluetooth audio streaming and active intercom generates heat in a small housing — that warmth is normal under continuous load. What to watch for is heat that persists after the call ends or that causes the headset to shut down. If shutdown occurs, the BMS is triggering thermal protection, which usually means the cell is being charged or discharged outside its rated range. Check that the base station voltage output matches the 3.7V spec before recharging.
