Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Plantronics Voyager Legend — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 60mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Plantronics Voyager Legend wireless Bluetooth headset. It fits Voyager Legend variants 87300-01, 87300-02, 87300-03, and additional models in the Voyager Legend series. Same voltage, same chemistry, same compact form factor at 35.80 x 7.50 x 4.10mm.
- Voyager Legend series fit: All Voyager Legend variants listed share the same internal cell bay dimensions, connector pin-out, and BMS communication protocol. Swapping the cell does not require firmware changes — the headset reads the new pack automatically on first charge.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on the Voyager Legend platform. The BMS completed its handshake correctly, charge termination triggered at full voltage, and the protection circuit held steady under the combined audio and Bluetooth radio draw.
- First charge via base station: Place the headset in the Plantronics charging cradle immediately after fitting the new cell. The base station logs the new pack and calibrates the talk-time indicator — skipping this step causes the battery gauge to read inaccurately for the first several days.
Why the Voyager Legend cuts out mid-call on a new battery
The Voyager Legend drives two loads simultaneously — the audio codec and the Bluetooth radio. On a fresh replacement cell at storage voltage, the BMS can interpret the combined current spike as an overload and trip the protection circuit. This shows as a sudden dropout rather than a gradual fade. A full base-station charge cycle before use brings the cell to nominal voltage, which gives the BMS enough headroom to handle the combined draw without cutting out.
Talk time shorter than rated for the first few uses
Li-Polymer cells arrive at partial charge and do not reach full capacity on cycle one. The Voyager Legend's battery gauge also relies on a calibrated baseline, which the base station writes after the first complete charge-to-discharge sequence. Expect capacity to step up progressively over three to five full cycles. After cycle five, charge fully in the cradle before measuring actual talk time against the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Voyager Legend is cutting out mid-call even though the battery shows full — what's happening?
This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. The Bluetooth radio and audio codec pull current at the same time, and if the cell is still in its first couple of cycles, the voltage dips briefly under that combined load — enough to trip the BMS protection circuit. It reads as a dropout, not a low-battery warning. Run three to five full charge cycles through the base station and the sag will reduce as the cell settles to its working capacity.
The base station shows the headset is charging, but after a short time in use it cuts off completely — why?
The cell arrived at storage voltage, which is well below the operating threshold the headset needs to sustain the radio link. The base station light turns green once the cell accepts a surface charge, but that is not a full charge. Leave the headset in the cradle for a complete uninterrupted charge cycle — typically until the base indicator goes solid green and stays there. After that first full cycle the cutoff issue resolves.
The headset feels noticeably warm during long calls — is that a problem with the new cell?
Warmth is expected in a housing this small. The Voyager Legend's enclosure has minimal thermal mass, so heat from the Bluetooth radio and the cell's own charge-discharge cycle has nowhere to dissipate quickly. The cell is rated for normal operating temperatures well above what a sustained call generates. If the headset becomes hot to the point of discomfort, check that the base station is not also trying to charge it mid-call — remove it from the cradle before making extended calls to eliminate that second heat source.
