Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sennheiser SDW 30 / SDW 60 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB732038T)
This 3.7V 450mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original AHB732038T battery in Sennheiser DECT wireless headsets. It fits the SDW 30, SDW 60, DW 30 HS, SDW 60 HS, and over 56 additional models in the SDW and DW headset range. The cell matches the original dimensions at 36.10 × 19.60 × 6.90mm, so it seats correctly in the headset housing.
- SDW and DW series compatibility: These headsets share the same cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across the SDW and DW lines. One battery spec covers the full range because Sennheiser standardised the power cell across that platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the base station. The BMS completed its handshake with the charging dock and the charge indicator progressed normally through each stage without fault flags.
- First charge on a new cell: Seat the headset in the base station and let it complete one full uninterrupted charge before taking a call. DECT headsets use the base station to log the new cell capacity — until that first cycle completes, the talk-time estimate displayed on paired software or the base may read inaccurate.
Base station not recognising the new pack after fitting
A replacement Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — not at the 3.7V nominal the BMS expects to see at the start of a charge handshake. Some SDW base stations respond to this by refusing to initiate the charge sequence or displaying a charge error. Reseating the headset once will usually clear this. If the base still shows an error, leave the headset seated for 10 minutes — the base trickle-charges the cell up past the BMS threshold before switching to normal charge mode.
Headset cuts out mid-call even with a new battery fitted
The SDW 30 drives both its audio circuit and the DECT radio transmitter from the same 3.7V cell simultaneously. During a call, that combined draw can cause brief voltage sag in a cell that has not yet been conditioned. The BMS reads the sag as an undervoltage event and trips the protection circuit, cutting the headset off. This behaviour typically resolves after three to five full charge and discharge cycles as the cell reaches its rated capacity — do not mistake it for a faulty unit after the first use.

Frequently Asked Questions
The base station shows a full charge but the headset cuts off after a very short time — is the battery faulty?
Not necessarily. A cell at storage voltage can read as fully charged on the base indicator before it has completed a proper conditioning cycle. The base station's charge estimate is unreliable until the new cell has gone through at least one full charge from near-empty. Run the headset until the base signals low battery, then charge it fully without interruption — repeat this two to three times and the cut-off behaviour should stop.
The headset feels noticeably warm after extended calls — is that a problem with this cell?
The SDW 30 housing is compact, and the combined draw from the audio circuit and DECT radio transmitter generates heat in a small space. Some warmth during long calls is normal for this headset class. If the headset becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable, the BMS thermal protection may trip and cut the call — in that case, let the headset cool for five minutes, reseat it in the base, and the BMS will reset.
Talk time is noticeably shorter after switching to this replacement — will it improve?
Li-Polymer cells deliver their rated 450mAh capacity after a few conditioning cycles, not on the first use. For the first three to five cycles the cell typically delivers 85–90% of rated capacity as the electrolyte fully activates. Cycle the headset through complete charge and discharge sequences without partial top-ups during that break-in period, and talk time should reach the rated level by the fifth cycle.
