Fits Sony MW600 and MH100 wireless headsets; replaces OEM part number GP0836L17.
This 3.7V, 250mAh Li-Polymer cell restores full wireless audio and call functionality to the neckband headset after original battery degradation.
Connector is a two-pin pogo contact; insertion locks into the battery slot with a light retention tab — confirm seating before closing the cover.
We bench tested this cell in the MW600 charging cradle; the BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no handshake delays.
On first use, charge the headset in the base station for a full cycle before taking calls — the DECT radio needs the base to log the new cell before talk-time accuracy updates.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony MW600 / MH100 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GP0836L17)

This is a 3.7V, 250mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original GP0836L17 battery in the Sony MW600 and MH100 Bluetooth neckband headsets. It restores power to the audio and call functions that depend on this cell. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.

  • MW600 and MH100 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V battery rail with the same physical footprint and connector orientation. The GP0836L17 cell fits either headset without modification to the housing or cable routing.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MW600 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the headset returned to normal operation across audio playback and call handling.
  • First-cycle logging on the MW600: Charge the headset fully via its USB connection before taking a call. The MW600 reads the cell state during the first charge cycle, and an incomplete first charge can cause the battery indicator to report inaccurate levels until a full cycle is completed.

Why the MW600 cuts out mid-call on a new battery

The MW600 drives two simultaneous loads during a call — the Bluetooth radio and the audio codec. Together, these pull more current than audio playback alone. If the new cell has not completed a full charge cycle, its available voltage window is narrower than rated. The BMS interprets the resulting sag as a low-cell condition and cuts power to protect the cell. A full charge before the first call resolves this.

Headset shows full charge but shuts off after a few minutes of use

This happens when a replacement cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V — rather than a full 4.2V charge. The battery indicator reads that initial voltage as "full" because it hasn't yet calibrated to the new cell's actual range. Under load, the cell voltage drops quickly and the BMS triggers a cutoff. Run one complete charge from flat to full via USB, and the voltage reporting and cutoff behaviour will normalise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MW600 keeps cutting out mid-call but works fine during music — what's happening?

Calls pull current from both the Bluetooth radio and audio codec at the same time, which is a heavier draw than music playback alone. On a new or recently replaced cell, this combined load can push voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the cell has fully conditioned. Charge the headset to 100% via USB and run two to three full charge cycles before using it for calls. After conditioning, the cell handles the combined load without tripping the cutoff.

The headset only gets full talk time after several charges — is the battery faulty?

It isn't faulty. Li-Polymer cells at this capacity class typically need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach their rated capacity. During the first few cycles, the cell's internal chemistry hasn't fully stabilised, so usable capacity is slightly below the 250mAh rated figure. Run the headset down fully and recharge it completely three times, and talk time will increase noticeably with each cycle.

The MW600 gets noticeably warm during long calls — is that a problem with this replacement cell?

Some warmth is normal. The MW600 housing is compact, and the combined heat from the Bluetooth radio, codec, and charging circuit has limited surface area to dissipate through. If the headset becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, that points to a BMS issue or a charging fault — disconnect it from USB and let it cool before recharging. For normal extended calls, keep the headset clear of enclosed pockets or pouches where heat has nowhere to escape.
