Fits Aastra DT690, DT692, and DH4-BAAA/2B handsets; replaces OEM part numbers 660190/1A, 660190/R2B, and 660216/1B1.
This 3.7V, 930mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 3.44Wh to restore full talk and standby time on the Aastra platform.
Connector slides into the battery slot beneath the handset grip with a single locking tab; polarity is keyed to prevent reversal.
We bench-tested the BMS voltage rise on initial charge; the cell accepted full 4.2V absorption without fault codes on the base station.
After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge cycle before first call — Aastra DECT handsets need stable BMS voltage to complete the pairing handshake with the base unit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aastra DT690 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (660190/1A)

This is a 3.7V, 930mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Aastra DT690, DT692, and DH4-BAAA/2B cordless DECT handsets. It slots into the same battery compartment as the original 660190/1A pack. Capacity is rated at 3.44Wh, matching the original specification.

  • DT690, DT692, and DH4-BAAA/2B fit: All three models share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one battery covers the entire group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the DT690 handset. The BMS accepted the charge from the base station without error and held voltage within the expected range across the full discharge curve.
  • First-charge protocol for DECT handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first call. Li-ion cells shipped in partial-charge storage states need a complete slow charge cycle to register correctly with the handset's fuel gauge.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

A new Li-ion cell leaves the warehouse at around 40–60% charge. The DT690 handset reads state-of-charge from the BMS, so a partially charged pack will report a lower capacity than the cell actually holds. The fix is to complete two or three full charge-discharge cycles through the base station. After the third cycle, the handset's fuel gauge recalibrates and talk time will reflect the full 930mAh rating.

Handset loses DECT pairing when the battery is swapped

Removing the battery cuts all power to the DT690's volatile memory, which can erase the stored base station registration. This is not a fault with the new battery — it is a known behaviour in this DECT handset series. To restore pairing, press and hold the registration button on the base station, then follow the re-pairing sequence on the handset. The process takes under two minutes and restores full functionality at that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Aastra DT690 battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the new battery faulty?

A new battery draining overnight in the base is almost always a seating issue, not a cell fault. The DT690 base station charges through spring contacts on the bottom of the handset — if the handset is not fully clicked into the cradle, the contacts do not engage and the battery draws down on standby. Remove the handset, reseat it firmly, and check that the charging indicator light activates. If the light stays on and the battery still drains, check the base contacts for debris.

The base station charge light stays red and never switches to green after I installed the replacement battery — what's wrong?

This happens when a Li-ion cell arrives from storage below the base station's charge acceptance threshold. The DT690 base expects a minimum voltage before it begins a standard charge cycle. Leave the handset seated in the base for at least 30 minutes without interruption — the charger circuit will trickle-charge the cell up to the acceptance voltage, then switch to full charge. If the light does not change after 30 minutes, clean the base contacts with a dry cloth and reseat the handset.

My DT690 shows a full signal bar but calls drop or break up near the edge of the room — did the battery swap affect range?

Yes, this is a real issue. The DT690's RF transmitter draws a short burst of higher current every time it transmits a voice packet. If the battery voltage sags under that load — common in the first couple of charge cycles — the transmit power drops and range shrinks. This resolves after two or three full charge cycles through the base, which allows the cell to stabilise at its rated 3.7V under load. Run the handset through two complete charge and discharge cycles before testing range again.
