It covers OEM part numbers AS11A3E, AS11A5E, 3ICR19/66-2, and 3INR18/65-2. Fit the battery when the original no longer holds a charge or the system reports critically degraded health.

One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the learn cycle and resolves the warning.

This happens when an aged cell can no longer hold voltage under the combined load of the CPU, display backlight, and storage at the same time. As the cell depletes past roughly 20%, internal resistance rises sharply, voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold, and the system drops power instantly rather than reaching the OS shutdown point. A new cell with healthy internal resistance will sustain voltage through that load range. After fitting the replacement, run the calibration cycle described above so the fuel gauge IC maps the actual discharge curve — without calibration, the gauge inherits the old cell's curve and the early-shutdown behaviour may persist until the IC relearns.

The fuel gauge on the 3830T jumps around wildly after fitting the new battery — shows 60%, then 85%, then 45% within minutes.

The fuel gauge IC on the 3830T calibrates itself against discharge data from the installed cell.
