Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Adetec Vocalys 700SRE801 — 7.5V Alkaline Replacement Battery (922 BPA 001)
This is a 7.5V, 17000mAh alkaline replacement battery for the Adetec Vocalys 700SRE801 and related Vocalys 700 series alarm control panels. It replaces OEM part 922 BPA 001 and restores backup power to panels that have lost their original cell. Fits the Vocalys 700SRE801, 700SRE803, and CW32 series.
- Vocalys 700 and CW32 series compatibility: These panels share the same 7.5V backup rail and use the same connector and physical footprint as the 922 BPA 001 cell. Voltage match is exact — the panel's charge management circuit expects this rail and will reject undersized cells by flagging a persistent low-battery fault.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Vocalys panel under simulated mains-loss conditions. The panel accepted the battery without fault codes after the float charge cycle completed. BMS handshake cleared within the expected 24–48 hour conditioning window.
- Float charge conditioning after swap: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. The Vocalys panel requires the new battery to reach full float charge — typically 24 to 48 hours on mains power — before its charge monitor will report accurately. Testing before that window often triggers a false low-battery warning.
Why the Vocalys panel keeps reporting low battery after a new cell is fitted
The Vocalys 700 series measures backup battery state through its onboard charge controller, not with a direct voltage read at the terminal. A freshly installed alkaline cell starts below the panel's charge threshold, so the fault flag stays active even though the battery is new. The panel needs continuous mains power for 24 to 48 hours to complete the float charge cycle and allow the controller to register the cell as fully charged. Once that window passes, the low-battery fault clears automatically without any panel reset.
Alarm losing stored programming during a mains outage after battery replacement
If the panel drops its zone programming during a power cut shortly after a battery swap, the new cell had not yet been accepted into the backup circuit. The Vocalys charge controller runs a conditioning phase before it trusts a replacement cell — during that phase, the panel may not draw from the battery under load. Let the panel sit on mains for a full 48 hours post-installation before testing backup behaviour. After conditioning, confirm standby voltage at the battery terminals reads at or above 7.5V before triggering a mains-loss simulation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Vocalys panel is showing a low battery fault the day after I put in a brand new 922 BPA 001 cell — did I get a dud?
Almost certainly not. The Vocalys charge controller requires 24 to 48 hours on mains power before it registers a new alkaline cell as fully charged. During that window the low-battery fault flag stays active regardless of cell condition. Leave the panel powered on mains and check again after 48 hours — the fault should clear on its own.
The siren didn't sound during a test I ran straight after replacing the backup battery — is the siren faulty?
The siren is almost certainly fine. On Vocalys panels, the siren output can be suppressed for up to 60 seconds after a new backup cell is fitted while the charge circuit stabilises. Running a test immediately after installation often catches the panel mid-stabilisation. Wait at least one hour after fitting the new cell, then rerun the test from the keypad.
The panel showed a tamper fault right after I swapped the battery and closed the case — what causes that?
A tamper fault after a battery swap usually means the panel lid or back cover did not seat fully against the tamper switch. The Vocalys enclosure uses a spring-loaded tamper contact that requires firm, even pressure across the lid to close correctly. Open the case, check the tamper switch for debris or a bent contact, then reseat the cover until you hear it click. The fault should clear within a few seconds of the lid making clean contact.
