Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Airis PhotoStar 5633 / N633 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V 1050mAh (3.89Wh) lithium-ion battery for Airis PhotoStar digital cameras. It fits the PhotoStar 5633, 6820, N633, and N635 among others. Same voltage, same form factor — drop it in and the camera body closes cleanly.
- PhotoStar 5633 / N633 platform compatibility: These models share a common battery bay geometry and 3.7V single-cell input rail. The connector orientation and cell dimensions (53.20 × 35.30 × 7.10mm) match across the series, so the same cell services multiple bodies without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS communicates correctly with the camera body. Charge acceptance was clean and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff — no runaway, no false-full readings.
- First-cycle BMS initialisation: Run the first full charge inside the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some Airis camera BMS systems won't map battery-remaining percentages accurately until the body completes one charge cycle with the new cell seated.
Flash output dropping mid-shoot on a new camera battery
The flash capacitor draws a sharp burst of current each time it recharges between shots. Toward the end of a cell's charge, internal resistance rises and the capacitor can't pull enough current to fully charge in the time between frames. The result is softer flash output — not a faulty flash unit. If this happens early in a session with a new cell, the cell wasn't fully charged before use. Charge to 4.2V (full) before the next shoot and the recycle time returns to normal.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the display
Camera battery gauges map voltage thresholds to percentage steps — the OEM cell's discharge curve is what the firmware expects. A new replacement cell may have a slightly different discharge curve, so the voltage-to-percentage mapping drifts and the indicator skips or jumps between readings. This is a display calibration issue, not a fault with the cell. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles and the firmware recalibrates its tracking to the new cell's actual curve.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Airis PhotoStar 5633 is showing "no battery" or won't recognise the new cell — what's happening?
The camera's BMS runs an authentication check on first install, and a new cell sometimes fails it until the body completes one charge handshake. Seat the battery, connect the camera to its OEM charger, and let it run a full charge cycle without interruption. After that single cycle, the body accepts the cell and the no-battery warning clears. If it persists, re-seat the cell firmly — a loose contact in the bay can trigger the same error.
My shot count is way lower than I expected from a 1050mAh cell — is the battery faulty?
Shot count estimates assume a baseline draw, but the PhotoStar's flash recycling, continuous autofocus, and LCD-on time all pull current well beyond that baseline. Shooting in burst mode or leaving the LCD active between shots compounds this significantly. The cell capacity is correct — the usage pattern is the variable. Turn off the LCD review timer and reduce flash frequency on a test shoot to see the actual capacity the cell holds.
The Airis PhotoStar body feels warm and the battery drains faster during video recording — is that normal?
Yes — video mode runs the sensor, image processor, and stabilisation circuit simultaneously, which pushes combined draw far above what single-shot photography requires. That sustained load generates heat in both the cell and the body's processor area. The cell isn't failing; it's working harder than its spec draw assumes. Keep video clips to reasonable lengths and let the body cool between long takes to prevent thermal throttling from the camera's own protection circuit.
