Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AL-KO Robolinho 100 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (442175)
This is an 18V 2500mAh (45Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the AL-KO Robolinho robotic lawn mower range. It fits the Robolinho 100, 110, 1100, 41.6, and over ten additional Robolinho variants that share the same 18V battery platform. OEM part numbers covered include 442175, 441154, 440454, 442632, 442196, 440629, and 49560610.
- Robolinho 100 series compatibility: These models share the same 18V battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake protocol. A single replacement cell pack services the full range without modification or adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through blade-load simulation including inrush spikes typical of thick-grass cutting. The BMS responded correctly to overcurrent events and recovered without lockout.
- Seasonal start-up tip: Before the first cut of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a pack that hasn't warmed up.
Charger showing fault after the mower sat in the garage all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If a Robolinho battery sits unused for several months, cell voltage can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 12–14V on an 18V pack. The charger sees a pack below its safe entry voltage and refuses to initiate a charge cycle, which shows as a fault or blinking error light. Place the pack on the charger and leave it for 30 minutes; many AL-KO chargers include a recovery mode that trickle-charges a deeply discharged pack back above the acceptance threshold before switching to normal charge. If the charger still shows fault after 30 minutes, check cell voltage with a multimeter — below 10V on the pack indicates a cell that has permanently dropped out.
Mower cuts out mid-row then restarts on its own after a short pause
This is thermal protection activating inside the BMS, not a cell failure. Thick or wet grass forces the blade motor to draw sustained high current, which heats the BMS protection circuit. Once internal temperature hits the cutoff threshold, the BMS opens the discharge path and the mower stops. The pack recovers once it cools — typically within five minutes. If this happens repeatedly on the same lawn section, check that the cutting height is not set too low for current grass length, as a single-pass height reduction reduces blade load and prevents repeated thermal trips.

Frequently Asked Questions
The AL-KO charger blinks red and won't charge the new battery — what's happening?
A red blink on AL-KO chargers usually means the pack voltage is outside the charger's acceptance window. This happens when a brand-new replacement pack has partially self-discharged during shipping and storage. Leave the pack on the charger for 20–30 minutes — the charger's recovery circuit will trickle charge it up to the acceptance threshold and then switch to a normal charge cycle. If the fault light stays on past 30 minutes, check pack voltage at the terminals; it should read above 14V for a normal charge cycle to begin.
The new battery feels noticeably warm after the first few charges — is that normal?
New Li-ion cells go through a conditioning phase during the first four to five cycles where internal resistance is slightly higher than it will be once the cells are broken in. That extra resistance generates a bit more heat than you'll see once the pack is fully conditioned. As long as the pack is warm to the touch but not hot, this is normal and settles down after a few full charge and discharge cycles on the mower. If the pack is too hot to hold comfortably after charging, stop use and check for any visible swelling around the cell housing.
My Robolinho cuts fine on warm days but struggles on cold mornings — battery issue or mower issue?
Li-ion capacity drops measurably below 10°C because cold cells have higher internal resistance and deliver less usable current at the same voltage. The blade motor's inrush current on start-up can also trip the BMS on a cold pack. This is a battery chemistry characteristic, not a fault with the mower. Bring the battery indoors the night before an early-morning cut — a pack at room temperature will deliver full capacity and clear the BMS inrush threshold without tripping.
