Fits AL-KO 441188 and 440530 cordless mower models; replaces OEM part numbers 441188, 440530, AK441347, 441347, 474011, 20196003.
25.9V, 5000mAh lithium-ion delivers consistent blade torque across residential cutting widths without voltage sag mid-row.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a left-turn locking tab; contact points face the motor housing.
We ran this pack on a 441188 deck at full blade load; BMS held steady through five consecutive charge cycles without early cutoff.
Before first use each spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if outdoor temperatures are below 10°C — cold cells trigger higher motor inrush current and can trip the BMS protection.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AL-KO Robolino 116 / 4000 Series — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (441188)

This is a 25.9V, 5000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for AL-KO cordless lawn mowers. It fits the 441188 and 440530 battery platform, covering the Robolino 116, Robolino 4000, and over nineteen compatible AL-KO mower models. Voltage and connector match the original AL-KO specification exactly.

  • Robolino 116 and 4000 platform fitment: These models share the same 25.9V battery rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. A single battery SKU covers all variants in this range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the full AL-KO charge cycle and confirmed BMS communication, cell balancing, and protection cutoffs all responded correctly across discharge and charge phases.
  • Seasonal storage tip: If the mower has sat unused through winter, bring the battery indoors overnight before the first spring cut. Below 10°C, Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the cells have a chance to warm up.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The AL-KO blade motor draws a sharp current spike when it bites into dense or wet grass. If the pack's state of charge is already below 50%, that inrush can push instantaneous current beyond the BMS protection threshold, triggering an abrupt cutoff. This is a protection event, not a faulty battery. Let the pack rest for two minutes, then resume cutting at a slower walking pace to reduce motor load.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat in the garage all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during long storage. If cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the charger's intake circuit reads the pack as outside acceptable range and refuses to initiate a charge cycle. To recover it, place the pack in a warm room — above 15°C — for two hours, then reconnect to the charger. Most AL-KO chargers will re-accept the pack once internal temperature stabilises and cell voltage reads above the entry threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AL-KO mower cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a short wait — is the battery failing?

This is thermal protection activating, not cell failure. When the blade motor runs under sustained load, pack temperature rises, and the BMS shuts the output to protect the cells. Allow a five-minute cooldown with the battery removed from the mower, then resume. If it keeps happening on shorter and shorter rows, check that the blade underside is clean — a clogged deck forces the motor to work harder and draws more current from the pack.

The new battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one after a full cut — should I be concerned?

New cells generate more heat during the first few charge and discharge cycles while internal resistance stabilises. This is normal for the first five cycles. After that, the pack should run at a similar temperature to the original. If it still runs hot after five full cuts, check that the battery compartment vents on the mower deck are clear of grass clippings, which can block airflow around the pack.

The mower starts fine on a warm day but feels noticeably weaker on a cold morning — what's happening?

Li-ion capacity drops measurably below 10°C. The cells deliver less current at low temperatures, so the blade motor gets less power and the mower feels sluggish or struggles on inclines it handles easily in summer. Store the battery indoors overnight when temperatures are forecast to drop below 10°C, and fit it to the mower just before use. A pack that starts a cut at room temperature will maintain consistent blade speed far longer than one pulled cold from an outdoor shed.
