Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel Lucent 500 DECT — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (3BN67202AA)

This is a 3.7V, 650mAh lithium-ion battery for the Alcatel-Lucent 500 DECT and Mobile 500 DECT cordless handsets. It replaces OEM part 3BN67202AA and also fits handsets identified by part numbers 3BN67200AA and 3BN67201AA. Voltage and connector match the original, so no modifications are needed to fit the battery in the handset.

  • Lucent 500 DECT and Mobile 500 DECT compatibility: These handsets share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture and identical battery bay dimensions. The BMS in each handset communicates over the same two-contact interface, so one battery covers both variants without any wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on a Lucent 500 DECT handset. The BMS accepted the cell without a voltage-mismatch fault, and the handset returned to normal standby and call state throughout testing.
  • First charge after fitting: Li-ion cells ship at a partial state of charge. After inserting this battery, seat the handset in the base and allow a full uninterrupted charge cycle before use. The handset's charge indicator will confirm when the cycle is complete.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new battery

A new Li-ion cell doesn't always deliver its rated 650mAh on the first cycle. The BMS needs one or two full charge-discharge cycles to calibrate its state-of-charge tracking against the new cell. If talk time feels short in the first day of use, run the handset down to low-battery warning, then charge it fully without interruption. By the second or third cycle, the BMS reading and actual cell capacity align.

Handset not pairing with the base after battery replacement

Removing the original battery cuts all power to the handset's memory, and some DECT 500 units drop their base station pairing when this happens. The handset will show no line or registration error on the display. To re-pair, hold the registration button on the base station until the LED flashes, then initiate registration from the handset menu. Once registered, the handset returns to normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The base station charge light stays off after I put in the new battery — why won't it charge?

A Li-ion cell shipped at low state of charge can sit below the handset's charge-acceptance threshold, so the base sees no valid battery signal and shows no charge activity. Seat the handset firmly in the base and leave it for 20–30 minutes — the charger circuit will trickle-charge the cell until it reaches the minimum voltage needed to trigger the normal charge cycle. If the light still doesn't activate after 30 minutes, check that the handset is fully seated and the base contacts are clean. Normal charging should begin once the cell reaches approximately 3.0V.

The handset loses range and starts breaking up — could that be the battery?

Yes. When a Li-ion cell is low or aging, voltage sags under the RF transmit load the DECT radio draws during a call. That sag drops the handset's transmit power, which cuts effective range before the low-battery indicator even appears. Fit the new battery and run a full charge cycle first. If range restores after a full charge, the original cell was the cause.

My handset drains overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is this a battery fault?

This usually means the handset isn't making good contact with the base charging pins, so the battery runs on standby draw all night instead of topping up. Check that the handset clicks fully into the cradle and that the metal contacts on both the handset and base are free of dust or oxidation. Clean the contacts with a dry cloth and reseat the handset. If the charge indicator lights up and the battery holds overnight after that, the contact gap was the cause, not the cell.
