Alcatel One Touch POP 10 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP046A2)

This is a 3.8V, 4600mAh lithium-polymer cell for the Alcatel OT-P360X and One Touch POP 10 (9.6) tablet. It replaces OEM part numbers TLP046A2 and CAC4600007C2. If the original cell has degraded, lost charge capacity, or stopped holding any charge, this restores normal tablet operation.

  • OT-P360X and One Touch POP 10 fit: These models share the same 3.8V battery rail, physical dimensions, and connector pinout. The 141.30 x 123.00 x 2.60mm cell fits the battery bay without modification, and the BMS communicates correctly with the tablet's charge IC.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-P360X platform. The BMS accepted charge current without fault codes and balanced correctly at full capacity. Voltage at full charge measured within spec.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff — do not force it off — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single full cycle lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a battery replacement.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% remaining after battery swap

The OT-P360X runs a combined display and WiFi load that draws a sharp current spike. If the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old degraded cell, it misreads the new cell's actual voltage curve and triggers a low-battery shutdown early. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the calibration. After that cycle, the tablet should hold charge through to single-digit percentages as expected.

Fast charging not available after fitting a new cell

Some users find the tablet reverts to standard charge speed after a battery swap. The charge IC needs at least one completed charge cycle — from low voltage to full — before it re-negotiates the faster charge profile. Use the original charger and cable for the first cycle, not a third-party adapter. After one full accepted charge cycle, fast charging should resume at its normal rate.

My Alcatel One Touch POP 10 shows 40% battery but shuts off without warning — is this the new battery failing?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a faulty cell. The tablet's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old degraded battery and doesn't yet match the voltage curve of the new one. Run the tablet to automatic shutoff — let it die on its own — then charge it uninterrupted to 100% without using it during the charge. That single cycle resets the calibration and the percentage readings stabilise.

The battery percentage is dropping faster than expected from 100% — goes from full to 60% in what feels like minutes.

This is the same fuel gauge mismatch — the IC is reading the new cell's voltage against the old cell's reference points, so early percentage drops look steeper than they are. The actual capacity of the cell is correct at 4600mAh. Complete one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the percentage curve will reflect the real capacity of the new cell.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my OT-P360X — it only charges slowly now.

The charge IC loses its negotiated fast-charge profile when the battery is disconnected and needs one completed charge cycle to re-establish it. Plug in using the original Alcatel charger and cable — not a third-party adapter — and let it charge from a low state all the way to 100% without interruption. After that first full accepted cycle, check again and fast charging should resume at normal speed.
