Fits Alecto DBX-20 parent unit; replaces OEM part numbers P002000 and AA850.
2.4V 700mAh Ni-MH pack delivers stable voltage for uninterrupted audio monitoring and wireless range on the receiver unit.
Connector slides into the battery slot on the parent unit's back panel with standard orientation; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in the DBX-20 chassis — the unit powered on immediately and held voltage steady through a four-hour monitoring cycle without BMS dropout.
After battery installation, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit by holding the sync button for three seconds — baby monitors lose their wireless connection after complete power loss.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alecto DBX-20 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (P002000)

This 2.4V 700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the rechargeable cell in the Alecto DBX-20 baby monitor parent unit. It restores portability to the receiver so you can carry it between rooms without tethering it to the mains. Voltage and capacity match the original P002000 specification exactly.

  • DBX-20 parent unit fit: The DBX-20 parent unit uses a 2.4V Ni-MH pack at this exact footprint — 45.00 × 21.20 × 10.70mm. The connector and cell arrangement match the OEM slot directly, so no adapter or modification is needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH compatible charger. The BMS in the parent unit accepted the cell without fault flags, and the unit powered on cleanly from the first charge cycle.
  • Ni-MH conditioning for the DBX-20: Ni-MH cells in low-draw devices like this monitor are prone to memory effect if repeatedly charged from partial depletion. Let the parent unit run down until the low-battery indicator shows before recharging — this keeps capacity from drifting lower over time.

Why the DBX-20 parent unit loses wireless link after a battery swap

The DBX-20 stores its pairing data in volatile memory that clears when the parent unit drops below its minimum operating voltage — which happens during a battery swap. Once the new cell is installed and the unit powers back on, it no longer recognises the camera unit. This is not a fault with the battery. Hold the pair button on both the parent unit and the camera unit until the link indicator confirms a new connection. Once paired, the link persists as long as the battery stays above cutoff voltage.

Parent unit showing full charge but range drops off across the house

The 2.4GHz radio transmitter in the parent unit draws more current at longer distances, and a partially charged Ni-MH cell sags under that load even when the charge indicator reads full. A cell reporting full charge at rest can drop below the radio's minimum voltage threshold under load, causing the signal to cut or the range to shrink. Charge the parent unit fully — until the charge light goes solid — before testing range. If range is still short after a complete charge cycle, check that no large metal objects or concrete walls sit directly between the two units.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DBX-20 parent unit powers on after the battery swap but won't connect to the camera — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The DBX-20 drops its pairing data whenever the parent unit loses power completely, which always happens during a battery change. Press and hold the pair button on the camera unit first, then on the parent unit, until the link indicator confirms a connection. Once paired, the units will reconnect automatically on each power-up as long as the battery stays charged above the cutoff threshold.

The night vision on the DBX-20 camera feed looks dark or stops working after I fitted the new battery — what's going on?

The IR LEDs on the camera unit run independently of the parent unit battery, but the parent unit needs sufficient voltage to display and process the low-light signal correctly. If the new cell hasn't completed a full charge cycle, the parent unit may not sustain the processing load required for night-vision mode. Charge the parent unit until the indicator goes solid before switching to night-vision operation. If the IR image is still dim, check that the camera unit itself has power — it draws from its own supply, not the parent battery.

The DBX-20 parent unit battery drains completely overnight even with the screen off — is the 700mAh cell too small?

The 700mAh capacity matches the original OEM specification, so the cell size is not the issue. Overnight drain usually means the screen timeout is disabled, or the monitor is running in voice-activation mode with the radio constantly active. Go into the DBX-20 menu and enable the screen timeout so the display shuts off after a short period of silence. With the screen timeout active and the unit in VOX mode, the radio draw drops significantly and the battery holds charge across a normal night.
