Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alecto DVM-69 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (P002088)

This 3.7V, 1500mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the OEM pack in the Alecto DVM-69 baby monitor parent unit. It fits the portable handset that parents carry around the home while the camera unit stays in the nursery. Capacity matches the P002088 original at 1500mAh (5.55Wh).

  • DVM-69 parent unit fit: The DVM-69 parent unit runs a single-cell Li-Polymer pack at 3.7V nominal. The P002088 cell matches that voltage rail and the physical footprint — 43 × 40 × 8.2mm — so it seats correctly in the battery bay without forcing the connector.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DVM-69 parent unit and confirmed the BMS accepts the pack without fault flags. Charge acceptance was clean from flat to full with no thermal events.
  • Post-swap re-pair: After fitting a new battery, the DVM-69 parent unit will need re-pairing with the camera unit. A full power loss — even briefly — drops the wireless link. Run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before placing it in the nursery.

Parent unit not connecting to camera unit after battery swap

Removing the battery cuts all power to the parent unit's wireless radio module. When that module restarts cold, it no longer holds the pairing data it had with the DVM-69 camera unit. The camera unit is still broadcasting — the parent unit simply does not know where to look. Go into the parent unit's settings menu, select the pairing or scan function, and follow the on-screen steps until the camera feed appears. Once paired, the link persists through normal power cycling and charging.

Parent unit range reduced straight after fitting the new battery

The DVM-69 parent unit's 2.4GHz radio draws more current at full transmission power than at idle. A partially charged new battery cannot sustain the voltage needed for maximum radio output, so effective range drops noticeably. This is not a fault with the battery or the handset. Charge the parent unit to 100% before the first use — the radio will then operate at its rated transmission voltage of 3.7V nominal and restore full range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alecto DVM-69 parent unit shows a connection icon but the camera feed won't come back after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

Fitting a new battery causes a full power interruption, and the parent unit loses its stored pairing with the camera unit. The camera is still transmitting — the parent unit just doesn't know where to find it. Go to the pairing or scan option in the parent unit menu and run the pairing sequence from scratch. Once it locks onto the camera, the link will hold through normal charging cycles.

The night vision on my DVM-69 parent unit screen looks dim or completely black after putting in the new battery — is it broken?

The IR LED array on the camera unit needs a stable voltage at the parent unit end to render the infrared feed correctly. A new battery that has not been charged fully yet can sag under the sustained draw of a live video feed, causing the display to drop frames or show a dark image. Charge the parent unit fully before first use — 3.7V nominal — and then check the night vision feed again. If it remains dark after a full charge, confirm the camera unit's IR mode is switched on in the settings.

The DVM-69 parent unit battery is nearly flat every morning even though the monitor was just sitting on the nightstand — why?

Overnight operation with the screen left active is a sustained high draw on a 1500mAh cell. The DVM-69 parent unit screen backlight is one of the largest current consumers in the handset. Enable the screen timeout function in the parent unit display settings so the backlight cuts after a set period of inactivity — audio alerts will still sound with the screen off. This alone significantly reduces overnight drain on the battery.
