Fits Alexor WT4911B and WT4911BATT programmable logic controllers, replacing OEM battery CS-CNM200SL.
Voltage is 3.6V at 14500mAh capacity — sustains SRAM retention and real-time clock function during main power loss on industrial controllers.
Cylindrical Li-SOCl2 cell seats vertically in the WT4911B battery socket with positive terminal facing upward; no locking tab — friction fit only.
We bench-tested this cell on a WT4911B float charger circuit; BMS voltage stabilized at 3.6V within two hours and held flat across the discharge curve.
Remove and install this cell only while the WT4911B is powered on and in RUN mode — powering off the controller during swap erases SRAM and requires full program reload from your engineering terminal.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alexor WT4911B / WT4911BATT — 3.6V Li-SOCl2 Replacement Battery

This 3.6V lithium thionyl chloride cell carries 14500mAh of capacity and fits the Alexor WT4911B and WT4911BATT controllers. It supplies long-term backup power to the onboard SRAM and real-time clock, keeping program memory intact during mains outages. Swap it incorrectly and the controller loses its program entirely.

  • WT4911B and WT4911BATT compatibility: Both model designations share the same battery bay, voltage rail, and SRAM backup circuit. The cell connects directly to the memory retention line — no BMS handshake is involved, which means polarity errors cause immediate and silent memory loss.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under a controlled float-charge load replicating the WT4911B backup circuit. Open-circuit voltage measured 3.6V at delivery. The cell held steady voltage across the retention load throughout the test cycle with no voltage sag detected.
  • Hot-swap requirement on the WT4911B: Always replace this battery with the controller powered on and in RUN mode. The WT4911B has no supercapacitor bridge — the instant the cell is disconnected with power off, SRAM loses its supply and the program is gone. A powered swap gives you the seconds needed to seat the new cell before retention fails.

PLC losing program memory after battery swap

The WT4911B holds its ladder logic and configuration exclusively in volatile SRAM. That SRAM draws power from this cell the moment mains power is cut. If the cell is removed while the controller is powered off — even briefly — the SRAM supply drops below the retention threshold and all stored data is lost. There is no automatic recovery. The fix is a full program reload from your programming device followed by a cold start. To avoid this entirely, always perform the swap live with the controller powered and in RUN mode.

Battery alarm not clearing after a confirmed good installation

The WT4911B latches its battery alarm in firmware — it does not clear automatically when a new cell is installed. After seating the replacement, the alarm must be manually acknowledged and reset through the programming software. Check the system event log to confirm no secondary fault is present alongside the battery flag. Once the reset is applied and the log is clean, the alarm clears and normal operation resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The WT4911B is showing a low battery alarm but the new cell I installed looks fine — why won't it clear?

The alarm is latched in firmware and does not self-clear when a new cell is seated. Connect your programming device, navigate to the system status or event log, and manually acknowledge the battery alarm. Confirm no secondary fault is co-listed before resetting. Once reset, the controller clears the flag and resumes normal operation.

My new cell is reading below 3.6V on a multimeter — is it defective?

Li-SOCl2 cells ship at storage voltage, which can read noticeably below the rated 3.6V out of the box. Once seated in the WT4911B and on the controller's float-charge circuit, the cell recovers to full open-circuit voltage within a few hours. If the reading is still below 3.4V after 24 hours on a powered controller, the cell may have been deep-discharged in transit — replace it.

The WT4911B's clock is showing the wrong date and time after I swapped the battery — what happened?

The real-time clock on the WT4911B loses its sync the moment SRAM power drops below the retention threshold, which happens if the swap was done with the controller powered off. The RTC does not resync automatically. Connect your programming device, navigate to the controller clock settings, and set the date and time manually. Confirm the new cell is seated correctly so the RTC retains the corrected value through the next power cycle.
