Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazon Kindle S11S01A / D00701 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (S11S01B)
This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Amazon Kindle S11S01A, D00701, and D00701 WiFi e-readers. It replaces the original S11S01B battery when capacity has dropped and the device can no longer hold a useful charge. Dimensions are 65.54 × 53.20 × 4.96mm — measure your existing cell before ordering if you are unsure.
- S11S01A and D00701 compatibility: Both models share the same physical footprint, connector pinout, and 3.7V voltage rail. The BMS on each device uses the same charge-termination handshake, so one cell covers the full group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S11S01A platform. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, hit full charge termination at 4.2V, and the e-ink controller drew steady current with no BMS fault interruptions.
- Post-swap charge cycle on Kindle firmware: After installing this cell, connect the Kindle via USB and charge it completely before switching it on. Kindle firmware reads the battery percentage from a coulomb counter that resets on cell swap — skipping the full charge cycle causes the percentage display to report incorrect figures from the first boot.
Kindle not powering on after battery swap
Replacement cells ship in storage mode — typically around 3.0V to 3.3V. The Kindle's boot sequence requires a minimum voltage on the battery rail before the processor will initialise. If the cell voltage sits below that threshold, the device shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the USB charger immediately after installation and leave it for at least 10 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge circuit will raise the cell voltage into the boot window, and the Kindle will start normally from that point.
Battery percentage jumping or reading 0% right after a new cell
The Kindle's fuel gauge IC tracks charge state by counting current in and out of the cell over time. A brand-new cell has no history in that counter, so the reported percentage is effectively a guess until a full charge-to-discharge cycle completes. Percentage jumps of 20–30% in either direction are normal in the first few sessions. Run the device from 100% down to auto-shutdown at least once, then charge back to 100% — the firmware recalibrates the gauge to the actual cell capacity after that cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Kindle still won't turn on even after leaving the new battery connected to USB for 10 minutes — what's wrong?
If the cell shipped at a very low storage voltage (below 2.8V), the Kindle's charge IC may not recognise it as a valid cell and will not begin charging. Disconnect the USB cable, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect — this resets the charge controller handshake. If the Kindle still shows no response after another 15 minutes on USB, check that the connector is fully seated on the board; a half-inserted ribbon connector breaks the circuit entirely. A fully seated cell at 2.5V or above will begin charging within two minutes of a clean USB connection.
WiFi is draining this battery much faster than I expected — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. WiFi draw on these Kindle models runs significantly higher than e-ink display refresh alone — the wireless radio pulls enough current to reduce active use between charges noticeably compared to reading with WiFi off. The e-ink panel itself draws power only during a page turn, so a reading session with WiFi disabled is far lighter on the cell than one with sync active. If you are not actively downloading books, switch WiFi off in the quick settings menu and the difference in charge duration will be immediate and measurable.
Page turns are slow and the screen takes longer to refresh since I swapped the battery — is this normal?
Slow e-ink refresh is linked to low cell voltage during the first few charge cycles after a swap. The e-ink display controller requires a stable voltage boost to drive the electrophoretic particles across the screen — when voltage sags slightly under load, the refresh waveform takes longer to complete. Charge the Kindle fully to 4.2V (shown as 100% on screen) before heavy use. After two or three full charge cycles, the cell voltage stabilises under load and page-turn response returns to normal speed.
