Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Ambrogio L200 Basic / Carbone / Deluxe Series — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (110Z03700A)
This 25.9V Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 110Z03700A in the Ambrogio L200 robotic mower range. It fits the L200 Basic, L200 Carbone, L200 Deluxe, and L200 Deluxe 1B, along with seven additional L200 variants. Capacity is 10200mAh (264.18Wh), matched to the original pack specification.
- L200 series compatibility: All listed L200 variants run the same 25.9V seven-cell series configuration with an identical BMS handshake protocol and blade-motor connector pinout — which is why one battery covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated blade-motor start surges at full load. The BMS held the current threshold without tripping on inrush, and cell balancing completed correctly after three full charge-discharge cycles.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before the mower's first spring run, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the cells have a chance to warm up.
Charger showing fault light after the mower sat in the garage all winter
Li-ion packs self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. A battery stored at low state-of-charge over five or six winter months can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 18V for a 25.9V pack. The charger detects this as an unsafe cell voltage and refuses to begin the charge cycle. To recover the pack, use a lithium recovery mode if your charger has one, or connect the battery briefly to an auxiliary Li-ion charger that can push a trickle charge until voltage climbs above 20V, then switch to your standard charger.
Mower cuts out mid-row in thick or wet grass, then restarts after a short pause
Thick or wet grass increases blade resistance sharply, spiking motor current draw. When that draw exceeds the BMS's overcurrent threshold, the pack shuts output to protect the cells — the mower stops, then recovers once the BMS resets. This is not a faulty battery; it is thermal and current protection working as intended. Let the mower sit for five minutes before restarting, and if the terrain is consistently heavy, check that the blade is sharp — a dull blade multiplies the load the motor sees.

Frequently Asked Questions
The charger's red fault light comes on the moment I plug in the new battery — what's causing that?
A fault light on connection almost always means the charger is reading a cell voltage outside its acceptance window. Check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated — oxidation on the connector pins creates a false low-voltage reading. If contacts are clean, leave the battery at room temperature for 30 minutes before trying again, as a cold pack can read several hundred millivolts lower than its true resting voltage. If the fault persists, measure the battery's open-circuit voltage with a multimeter — it should read between 25V and 29.4V for a healthy 25.9V pack.
The mower is cutting noticeably less area per charge than it did in the first few weeks — is that normal or a fault?
Some capacity drop in the first 5–10 cycles is normal as cells condition and the BMS refines its balance. However, if the drop is more than 15–20% and the pack is past 10 cycles, check your charging pattern — consistently ending the charge cycle early or leaving the mower on the dock for days after reaching full charge accelerates capacity fade on Li-ion cells. Let the pack complete a full charge-to-empty-to-full cycle once a month to allow the BMS to recalibrate its state-of-charge estimate. Capacity should stabilise once cell conditioning is complete.
On the first cold morning of the year the mower turns on but the blades stall almost immediately — why?
Below 10°C, Li-ion cells have measurably higher internal resistance, which limits how much current they can deliver at the instant the blade motor starts. The BMS sees the inrush current spike against the reduced cell output and trips the protection circuit before the blades reach speed. Bring the battery indoors and let it reach at least 15°C before installing it — this alone is usually enough to get through the start-up load without a trip. Once the mower has been running for a few minutes, the cells warm from their own discharge and performance normalises.
