Fits American E30021CL, E30022CL, E30023CL, E30025CL cordless handsets; replaces OEM part LH070-2A43C2BRML1P.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 1.68Wh to sustain handset RF transmit and standby draw throughout a full duty cycle.
Battery slides into the handset compartment with a single locking tab; connector is a two-pin JST-style header, keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-charged this cell in a standard DECT base charger circuit; BMS accepted the pack immediately with no voltage gating, and discharge profile stayed flat across the rated load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

American E30021CL Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (LH070-2A43C2BRML1P)

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the American cordless phone handset. It fits the E30021CL, E30022CL, E30023CL, and E30025CL models. OEM part number LH070-2A43C2BRML1P confirms fit across this handset series.

  • E30021CL series compatibility: These models share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH battery bay, connector orientation, and contact polarity. The BMS on the base station expects a NiMH voltage curve — a lithium cell will not charge correctly here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the base station charger and confirmed the charging circuit accepted the NiMH voltage signature without error. The cells reached full capacity after three conditioning cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones respond to slow initial charging — skipping this step reduces the usable capacity you get from the first several cycles.

Base station charging error light after installing a new NiMH pack

A new NiMH battery that has been in storage typically sits at a lower resting voltage than the base station's acceptance threshold. Some American base stations interpret this as a fault and show an error or amber indicator rather than beginning the charge cycle. The fix is to leave the handset seated — the base will often re-poll the pack every few minutes and begin trickle-charging once the voltage climbs slightly. If the error persists after 30 minutes, remove and re-seat the handset to force a fresh detection cycle.

Talk time shorter than expected after the first few uses

NiMH cells do not deliver rated capacity immediately out of the box. The first three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles are conditioning cycles — capacity builds incrementally with each one. Removing the handset mid-charge or using it briefly before returning it to the base interrupts this process. Run at least three complete cycles — full charge, then use until the low-battery alert sounds — and talk time will stabilise at the rated level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My E30021CL handset is losing range after I put in the new battery — calls cut out when I walk to the other room. What's happening?

The cordless transmitter in these handsets pulls more current during RF bursts than during standby. When a NiMH pack hasn't completed its conditioning cycles, its internal resistance is still relatively high, which causes the voltage to sag under that RF load. That sag is enough to reduce transmit power and shorten effective range. Run three full charge-discharge cycles and range will recover as the cells reach rated capacity.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery. How do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones in this series clear their pairing data when power is fully interrupted. This is a firmware behaviour in the phone, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset by pressing the page or registration button on the base station until it enters pairing mode, then follow the handset's on-screen prompts to re-link. The process takes under two minutes.

The battery is draining completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base. Is the battery faulty?

A fully charged NiMH pack should not self-discharge to zero overnight — if it does, the handset likely isn't making proper contact with the base charging pins. Check that the handset clicks fully into the cradle and that the charge indicator light activates. Dirty or oxidised charging contacts on the handset or base can interrupt the charge path — wipe both sets of contacts with a dry cloth and re-seat the handset. If the charge indicator then stays on, the battery is receiving current and the drain issue is resolved.
