Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AMOI Momo Design MD2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (MD-2)
This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the AMOI Momo Design MD2 and MD02 smartphones. The pack matches the OEM MD-2 part number and the 44.70 × 37.70 × 5.60mm footprint of the original. It restores power to a phone that no longer holds a charge or won't turn on.
- MD2 and MD02 compatibility: Both model designations use the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and charge voltage ceiling. One cell covers both variants — no hardware modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the MD2 platform. The BMS accepted charge current without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The MD2's fuel gauge IC reads coulomb data calibrated to the old cell curve — one full cycle resets it against the new cell so percentage readings are accurate.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Momo Design MD2
This is a voltage-cliff failure, not a capacity problem. When the MD2 fires the modem or lights the display at high brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A degraded or fresh-but-uncalibrated cell can't hold voltage under that load, and the protection circuit cuts output before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone reads 25% but the cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS floor under load. One complete recalibration cycle — full discharge, full charge — tightens the fuel gauge's voltage-to-percentage mapping and typically eliminates false cutoffs.
MD2 not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery shipped or sat unused long enough to drop below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout and blocks charge current as a safety measure. The phone will show nothing — no charging indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a low-current USB charger (500mA wall adapter, not a fast charger) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell climbs back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9V, normal charging resumes and the phone will power on.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Momo Design MD2 show the wrong battery percentage after fitting this new cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the MD2 builds its percentage estimate from a discharge curve mapped to the original cell's characteristics. A new cell has a different internal resistance and voltage profile, so the old curve gives inaccurate readings from day one. Run one uninterrupted full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate against the new cell.
The MD2 shuts off suddenly while I'm on a call, even with 25% showing — what's happening?
This is a voltage-sag issue, not a calibration one. Voice calls activate the modem at full transmit power, which pulls a current spike the cell can't sustain if its internal resistance is high. Voltage drops below the BMS cutoff under that load, and the phone shuts down instantly. Check that the replacement cell is seated flush with no debris on the contacts, then run a full recalibration cycle. If shutdowns continue after that, the contact pads on the phone itself may need cleaning — use isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab on the battery terminals before reinserting.
My MD2 feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?
Some warmth is expected on the first few charges. A new cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. The temperature should stay mild — warm to the touch, not hot. If the phone becomes uncomfortable to hold or charge stops before 100%, disconnect immediately and let it cool for 15 minutes before reconnecting. Normal warmth fades after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles.
