Fits Antares 2400, 2420, 2425, 2430 barcode scanners; replaces OEM part numbers 073152, 063278, 068537.
7.4V 2200mAh Li-ion pack delivers 16.28Wh to sustain scan bursts and wireless polling across warehouse shifts without mid-cycle drops.
Connector seats into the scanner battery slot with a positive contact tab; locking tab slides down and locks flush against the housing.
We bench tested this cell with rapid-fire barcode read sequences and wireless data transmission — BMS held stable under combined trigger and radio inrush, no early cutoff events.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack; the scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Antares 2400 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (073152)

This 7.4V, 2200mAh Li-ion pack replaces the original battery in Antares 2400, 2420, 2425, and 2430 barcode scanners. It also cross-references OEM part numbers 063278 and 068537. These scanners run in retail and warehousing environments where a dead battery stops a shift cold.

  • 2400 series compatibility: The 2400, 2420, 2425, and 2430 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one pack covers the whole family without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a 2420 unit and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly — the scanner accepted the pack and reported charge state accurately on the status display.
  • First-shift charging: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before pulling it for pick-and-pack. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage, and starting a shift fully charged prevents false BMS trips on the first burst of rapid scanning.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging errors on a freshly installed pack are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a battery fault. Cradle dock pins accumulate dust, label adhesive residue, and oxidation from repeated insertions in warehouse environments. That resistance spikes the voltage drop across the contacts, and the cradle's charge controller reads it as an abnormal pack condition. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and the error clears in most cases.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan burst, the imager draw and the wireless radio transmit cycle overlap — both pull current at the same moment. If the cell voltage sags below the radio module's minimum operating threshold, the connection drops mid-burst and the scanner has to re-associate with the access point. This is more common when the pack is below 20% charge. Keep the pack above 3.5V per cell (7.0V total pack voltage) during active shifts to avoid the sag window where these two loads collide.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Antares 2400 scanner isn't reading barcodes after I swapped the battery — laser comes on but scans fail

The imager or laser needs a minimum supply voltage to drive the decode module reliably. If the new pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage under load can dip just enough to cause intermittent decode failures even though the scanner appears powered on. Seat the scanner in the cradle and charge it fully before using it on the floor — a full charge cycle brings pack voltage to 8.4V and gives the imager the headroom it needs.

The scanner feels warm after a long shift — is something wrong with the pack?

Warmth after an extended shift is expected in this form factor. The 2400 series housing is compact, and sustained combined draw from the wireless radio, imager, and processor has limited airflow to dissipate heat. The pack and the scanner's internal components both contribute. If the housing is hot to the touch rather than just warm, check that the scanner isn't wedged in a confined space like a tight holster during active use — restricted airflow accelerates heat buildup and can trigger the BMS thermal cutoff, which requires a full cradle reseat to reset.

This replacement isn't lasting as long through a shift as the original battery did when it was new — why?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both affect how quickly the pack depletes — they're the two biggest variables most users don't account for. A shift with dense back-to-back scanning and a short wireless polling interval draws significantly more current than light intermittent use. Also confirm the scanner's power management settings weren't reset during the battery swap, as some 2400 units revert to a shorter backlight timeout and higher radio transmit power after a pack change. Reset those settings and measure shift endurance again before assuming the pack is underperforming.
