Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aorus 17 YA Gaming — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 15.2V, 6100mAh (92.72Wh) lithium-polymer battery is a direct cell replacement for the Aorus 17 YA Gaming laptop. It fits the internal battery bay of the 17 YA chassis and restores portable power when the original cell has degraded or failed. Match your original battery's voltage and physical dimensions before installing — 277.28 x 77.00 x 8.20mm.

  • 17 YA chassis compatibility: The Aorus 17 YA uses a 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer configuration. This replacement matches that voltage rail exactly. A mismatch here causes the EC controller to block charging entirely, so confirm the 15.2V rating on your original before swapping.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on the 17 YA platform. The BMS handshake completed normally, charge current stepped down correctly at the 80% threshold, and the cell held voltage within spec under sustained GPU and CPU load.
  • First-cycle calibration on the 17 YA: After installation, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after swap on the Aorus 17 YA

The Aorus 17 YA BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and compares it against the new cell's reported state. A fresh cell with no cycle history looks mismatched to the firmware, triggering a false "poor health" or "consider replacing battery" warning. This is a firmware calibration issue, not a cell fault. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted-charge-to-100% cycles — the BIOS learn cycle will rewrite its reference data and the warning clears.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% shown on the gauge after battery replacement

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge reports 20–30% remaining, but the cell's real voltage has already dropped below the EC controller's cutoff threshold under the combined load of the display, CPU, and GPU. The old calibration data doesn't match the new cell's discharge profile. Perform two full discharge cycles to hibernate-cutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge — after that, the gauge IC recalibrates and the shutdown point aligns with the displayed percentage.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Aorus 17 YA BIOS is showing the new battery Wh rating as lower than what's printed on the cell — why is there a mismatch?

The Wh figure shown in BIOS is pulled from EEPROM data written into the battery's fuel gauge chip at the factory. That stored value reflects the rated chemistry spec, not a live measurement of the physical cell. Until the laptop completes at least one full discharge-to-hibernate and full recharge cycle, the reported Wh can read lower or inconsistent. After two calibration cycles the reported figure stabilises — confirm it reads close to 92.72Wh.

The fuel gauge on the Aorus 17 YA is jumping erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes of each other.

The fuel gauge IC uses a reference voltage map built from the previous cell's cycle history. A new cell has a different discharge curve, so the IC is interpolating against the wrong data and producing unstable readings. This settles after two to three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100%. Do not interrupt the charge partway through — partial cycles extend the number of passes needed before the IC locks onto an accurate map.

Charging stops at 80% and won't go higher on the Aorus 17 YA after fitting the new battery.

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Aorus laptops include a battery care mode in their firmware that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress when the laptop is used primarily on AC power. Check BIOS under the battery or power settings section — look for "Battery Life Cycle Extension" or a charge limit toggle. Disable it or set the threshold to 100%, save, and reboot.
