Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus — 3.82V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (616-00249)
This 3.82V, 3300mAh (12.61Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. It fits models A1661, A1784, and A1785. Use it when the original cell no longer holds charge through a normal day.
- A1661, A1784, A1785 fitment: All three model numbers share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 3.82V nominal rail matches what the iPhone 7 Plus charge IC expects — swapping between these variants requires no hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the iPhone 7 Plus charge IC and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the fuel gauge. The protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff, and charge termination occurred at the correct upper threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the iPhone 7 Plus reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The iPhone 7 Plus uses a coulomb counter and a lookup table tied to the old cell's impedance profile. When a new cell goes in, those stored values no longer match the actual discharge curve. The fuel gauge IC reports percentages against stale data until it relearns. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the calibration baseline.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem or display's minimum rail voltage under load — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. A fresh cell with an uncalibrated coulomb counter cannot accurately predict that voltage cliff. The phone's power management IC cuts out before the gauge reaches zero. Run one complete discharge-to-shutdown cycle and let the gauge recalibrate — the cutoff point should stabilise above 3.5V per cell on subsequent cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
The iPhone 7 Plus won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage, which triggered BMS lockout to prevent further damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will apply a trickle current to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the Apple logo appears after that period, the cell is recovering normally.
Battery percentage jumps erratically — showing 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back to 55% within minutes
The coulomb counter is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve, which doesn't match the profile stored from the original cell. This erratic behaviour is a fuel gauge IC issue, not a faulty cell. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without disconnecting — this gives the IC a complete reference curve to work from. The jumping should stop after one or two full cycles.
Fast charging stopped working after fitting this battery — the phone just trickle charges now
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard current until it confirms BMS communication is stable. This is a handshake behaviour, not a fault. Let the battery complete one full charge at the slow rate, then reconnect with your original Apple fast charger. If fast charging still doesn't resume after that cycle, check that the Lightning cable is certified — a non-MFi cable will prevent the USB-PD negotiation from completing regardless of the battery condition.
