Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Archos 50F Helium Lite — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AC50FHE)
This 3.7V Li-ion cell delivers 1600mAh (5.92Wh) to the Archos 50F Helium Lite smartphone. It replaces part numbers AC50FHE and AC50FHELI when the original cell has degraded or failed. Dimensions are 75.50 × 57.62 × 4.10mm — confirm clearance before fitting.
- 50F Helium Lite fit: The Archos 50F Helium Lite uses a fixed connector pinout tied to its charge IC. This cell matches that pinout, voltage rail, and physical footprint. No connector modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the 50F Helium Lite platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without rejection errors, and the charge IC reached cutoff cleanly at 4.2V.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging if your variant supports it, then run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown followed by a complete charge. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new discharge curve before drawing high current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the 50F Helium Lite reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on this phone stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC reads voltage and translates it to a percentage using old data, so the number on screen drifts from reality. One complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% forces the coulomb counter to reset and relearn against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the load threshold of the modem or display before the fuel gauge reaches zero. Budget smartphone SoCs pull current spikes during LTE activity, and a cell that hasn't been through a calibration cycle hits a voltage cliff sooner than the IC expects. The phone interprets this as a hard undervoltage event and shuts down even though the gauge still shows charge. Run one full discharge cycle and keep the cell above 3.5V under load — if the phone reaches 3.2V at rest after shutdown, the calibration cycle has not completed yet.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BMS locks the cell out when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage. The fuel gauge IC and protection circuit both go dormant and the phone won't respond to the power button. Connect a known-good charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC needs to push a small trickle current into the cell before the BMS releases the lockout. Once the screen shows a charging indicator, proceed with a normal charge to 100%.
The percentage keeps jumping around — it reads 45%, then skips to 60%, then drops back to 38% within a few minutes.
Erratic percentage readings mean the coulomb counter is actively recalibrating against a cell it has no prior data for. This is normal on the first few cycles after a replacement and not a sign of a faulty cell. The IC is sampling voltage and comparing it against its stored lookup table — mismatches cause the jumps. Complete one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption, and the jumping should stop.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery — the phone just charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the 50F Helium Lite defaults to a lower current profile because it has no charge history for the new cell and treats it as unknown. This is a protective behaviour, not a fault with the battery or the charger. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle at standard rate first. After that cycle completes, reconnect your fast charger — the IC should accept the higher current input once it has baseline data from the new cell.
