Fits Aricon ECG-3C electrocardiograph; replaces OEM battery for 11.1V portable cardiac monitoring unit.
11.1V, 2600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 28.86Wh to power extended diagnostic sessions without mid-procedure power loss.
Connector seats vertically into device chassis with single locking tab; orientation marked on pack housing.
Bench testing shows BMS cold-start threshold around 8.5V; pack accepted full charge cycle without protection cutoff.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption — medical ECG units run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aricon ECG-3C — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 11.1V 2600mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Aricon ECG-3C electrocardiograph. The ECG-3C is a portable cardiac monitoring device used in clinical settings for heart rhythm analysis and patient data recording. Fit, voltage, and connector match the original unit.

  • ECG-3C platform: The ECG-3C runs a three-cell Li-ion configuration at 11.1V nominal to power the acquisition board, display, and signal processing simultaneously. This replacement matches that cell count and voltage rail exactly, which keeps the BMS handshake valid on power-up.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge under a load profile matching ECG signal acquisition. The BMS reported valid state-of-charge across all test runs, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at both overvoltage and undervoltage thresholds.
  • Post-swap startup protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the ECG-3C to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Medical device BMS firmware runs a verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window logs a false battery fault that persists until a clean reboot clears it.

Why the ECG-3C does not complete its boot sequence on a new battery

The ECG-3C BMS checks state-of-charge during boot and compares it against a minimum threshold before allowing the acquisition board to initialise. A new cell shipped at storage charge — typically 40–60% — can sit just below the firmware's boot threshold depending on transit losses. If the device stalls at the loading screen or powers off before the waveform display appears, charge the battery fully before the first boot attempt. A full charge brings cell voltage to 12.6V, which clears the threshold check and lets the boot sequence complete normally.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle

The ECG-3C charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or previously depleted cell. This is intentional — the IC uses the first charge cycle to profile internal resistance before it allows a full termination voltage. The display may hold at 95–98% for an extended period before jumping to 100%. Do not interrupt the charge. Let the cycle run to natural termination, then run one full discharge under normal device operation before relying on the charge indicator for clinical scheduling.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ECG-3C is alarming low battery immediately after a full charge — what's causing it?

The BMS in the ECG-3C sets its low-battery alarm threshold against the OEM cell's internal resistance profile. A new replacement cell reads higher resistance on the first few cycles, which causes the BMS to interpret state-of-charge as lower than it actually is. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle under normal device use before treating the alarm as accurate. After that conditioning cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm threshold aligns correctly with the actual charge level.

The ECG-3C won't power on after the battery sat unused for several weeks — is the battery dead?

Self-discharge during storage can drop a Li-ion cell below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 7.5V across the 11.1V pack. When voltage falls below that floor, the BMS locks out power-on to protect the cells. Connect the ECG-3C to mains and leave it on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on. If the charge indicator shows activity within the first 30 minutes, the BMS has accepted the cell and recovery is underway.

The ECG-3C is shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring — is this a faulty battery?

New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first 10 charge-discharge cycles, which causes a steeper voltage drop under the ECG-3C's combined acquisition and display load. If the pack voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold during a high-draw moment, the device shuts off as a protection response — not a fault. This behaviour reduces significantly after the break-in period. Complete 10 full charge-discharge cycles under normal clinical use before assessing whether the battery performs to specification.
