Fits Ascor AP12, AP22, AP31P, and SEP11S medical devices; replaces OEM part ASCOR001.
9.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage for portable medical equipment requiring consistent power output.
Connector slides into standard Ascor slot with positive contact on top; locking tab secures pack flush.
We bench-tested against OEM pack under clinical-grade load profiles; BMS voltage regulation held stable across charge cycles.
Allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption after installation—medical equipment runs BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until next reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ascor AP12 / AP22 / AP31P Series — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (ASCOR001)

This is a 9.6V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Ascor AP12, AP22, AP31P, and SEP11S portable medical devices. It replaces OEM part number ASCOR001 when the original cell degrades or fails. Capacity is 1500mAh (14.4Wh) — matched to the original specification.

  • AP12 / AP22 / AP31P / SEP11S platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 9.6V rail requirement. The BMS in each unit uses the same handshake protocol, so one cell SKU covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the AP12 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, completed its verification pass, and flagged no fault codes across multiple full cycles.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Ascor medical devices run a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power during this window writes a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Device not completing boot sequence after battery swap

The Ascor platform runs a BMS learn cycle on first install. A new Ni-MH cell straight from storage may sit at a resting voltage slightly below the threshold the boot sequence expects before it proceeds. If the device stalls mid-boot or resets, do not cycle power repeatedly — that resets the learn counter. Instead, leave the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle, then power on fresh. After one complete charge-discharge pass, the BMS updates its learned capacity table and the boot sequence proceeds normally.

Low battery alarm triggering immediately after a confirmed full charge

This happens because the BMS alarm threshold is calibrated against a capacity profile built from previous cycles — a brand-new cell has no cycle history, so the BMS reads its delivery curve as underperforming. The alarm clears after the cell completes one or two full charge-discharge cycles and the BMS recalibrates its internal baseline. Run at least one full cycle before clinical use. After the second full cycle, resting voltage should hold above 9.0V under load and the alarm will not retrigger.

Frequently Asked Questions

The device powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during use — is this a faulty cell or a BMS issue?

New Ni-MH cells have not yet stabilised their internal resistance, and the Ascor platform applies a demanding load profile during active use. In the first ten cycles, a new cell can sag enough under peak draw to trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff, which reads as an unexpected shutdown. This is not a faulty cell — it is the cell breaking in. Run three full charge-discharge cycles outside clinical use and the sag on peak load will reduce to within the BMS tolerance window.

The charge indicator never reaches 100% on the first charge — should I be concerned?

The Ascor charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it does not recognise a learned cell profile. On a new Ni-MH cell with no cycle history, the IC terminates early rather than risk overcharge, leaving the indicator short of 100%. This is normal first-charge behaviour, not a cell or charger fault. Complete one full uninterrupted charge cycle, remove the battery, refit it, and charge again — the second cycle typically reaches full indicated charge as the IC updates its delta-V cutoff reference.

The replacement battery sat unused for several months and now the device won't power on at all — is it recoverable?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. After several months in storage, the cell voltage can fall below the BMS hard-recovery threshold, and the device will refuse to power on rather than attempt to draw from a deeply discharged pack. Place the battery on charge immediately and leave it on a full uninterrupted charge cycle without attempting to power the device. If the charger accepts the cell and begins charging, the pack is recoverable — check that resting voltage reads above 8.5V before attempting to boot the device.
