Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Eee PC 1008 / 1008P / 1008KR — 10.95V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AP31-1008P)
This is a 10.95V, 2900mAh (31.76Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Asus Eee PC 1008, 1008P, and 1008KR netbooks. It replaces OEM part numbers AP31-1008P, AP32-1008P, and 90-OA1P2B1000Q. If your original cell has swollen, refuses to hold a charge, or drops to zero unpredictably, this is the direct swap.
- Eee PC 1008 series fit: The 1008, 1008P, and 1008KR share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. All three accept this cell without modification. The 241.00 x 61.93 x 11.90mm form factor seats flush in the battery bay.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and controlled discharge on the Eee PC platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the BIOS, reported accurate state-of-charge, and did not trigger false low-battery shutdowns during testing.
- First-cycle calibration on the Eee PC 1008: After installing, run one full discharge until the netbook hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle. Skipping this step causes the health indicator to show "poor" or report inaccurate capacity for the first several sessions.
Eee PC 1008 shutting down at 20–30% battery shown
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a fuel gauge error. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the BIOS fuel gauge can track — the system hits the hardware low-voltage cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. It happens most often when the original cell has aged past its usable cycle count. A fresh cell at full charge voltage (around 12.6V fully charged across the three cells) sustains the load curve through the lower charge states. If shutdowns persist after the calibration cycle, confirm the BIOS is not set to an aggressive low-battery shutdown threshold in the Power Management settings.
BIOS reporting new battery health as "poor" immediately after swap
The BIOS carries EEPROM data from the old cell and compares the new cell's reported capacity against that stored baseline. A mismatch flags the health status as poor or unknown — this is not a fault in the replacement cell. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted full charge. This forces the BIOS to re-learn the cell's actual capacity curve and overwrite the stale EEPROM values. After one to two full cycles, the health indicator should update to a normal status.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Eee PC 1008 fuel gauge is jumping around — showing 60%, then 90%, then dropping to 15% within minutes. Is the new battery faulty?
The fuel gauge IC in the Eee PC needs two to three full calibration cycles against the new cell before its readings stabilise. The old cell's EEPROM data skews the initial readings. Run full discharges to hibernate-cutoff followed by uninterrupted charges to 100% — do not interrupt mid-cycle. After the third cycle, the gauge should track within a few percent accurately.
Windows is showing the new battery as 31Wh but the BIOS system info displays a different Wh rating. Which one is correct?
The BIOS pulls the Wh figure from stored EEPROM data, which may still reflect the rated capacity of the original OEM cell — not the replacement. The 31.76Wh figure in Windows reflects what the fuel gauge IC is actually reading from this cell. The BIOS value updates after one or two full learn cycles once it overwrites the stale stored data. No action needed beyond running the calibration cycle.
The Eee PC 1008 stops charging at around 80% and never reaches 100%. The charger light stays on but the percentage won't move.
Some Eee PC BIOS versions include a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear — this is a firmware control, not a battery fault. Check the BIOS Power Management or AI Suite settings for a "Battery Life Cycle" or charge threshold option and set it to full charge mode. If no such setting exists, update the BIOS to the latest version from the Asus support page for the 1008P, as early firmware had a charging control bug that was patched in subsequent releases.
