Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei MediaPad 10FHD Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB3S1)
This is a 3.7V, 6400mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Huawei MediaPad 10FHD, MediaPad S10, S101U, and S101L tablets. Part number HB3S1. It fits the slim 10-inch tablet chassis and connects to the original BMS board without modification.
- MediaPad S10 series fit: The S10, S101U, S101L, and 10FHD all share the HB3S1 form factor — same connector pinout, same voltage rail at 3.7V nominal, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full-draw discharge on a MediaPad 10FHD. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, held charge termination correctly at 4.2V, and showed no thermal anomalies during the high-current draw phase.
- Post-swap calibration for the MediaPad fuel gauge: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the tablet's fuel gauge IC to re-map against the new cell's actual capacity curve and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear in the first few cycles.
Why the MediaPad 10FHD reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap
The MediaPad stores battery health data in EEPROM on the BMS. When you fit a new cell, the EEPROM still holds the degradation profile from the old one. The OS reads that stored data first — not the actual cell voltage — so it flags the battery as poor or unknown before any real measurement has occurred. Running two full charge-discharge calibration cycles overwrites the stale EEPROM values and brings the health indicator back to normal. No firmware update or factory reset is needed.
Tablet showing 23% then cutting to black mid-use after battery replacement
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a defective cell. Under combined Wi-Fi, display, and processor load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge can recalculate. The tablet's low-voltage protection triggers a hard cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fix is a full calibration cycle: discharge the tablet to automatic hibernate shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two cycles, the fuel gauge IC has enough data to accurately track voltage sag under load and the premature shutdowns stop. Target charge termination voltage is 4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The MediaPad shows the battery Wh rating as lower than the spec after I fitted the HB3S1 — is the cell undersized?
The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from EEPROM data rated against the old cell's chemistry profile, not measured from the new one. The HB3S1 is rated at 23.68Wh at 3.7V nominal — the hardware hasn't recalculated yet. Run two full discharge-to-shutdown and charge-to-100% cycles, and the reported Wh value will update to match the actual cell.
The tablet charges normally but the percentage jumps around wildly — goes from 60% to 80% then back to 55% in minutes.
The fuel gauge IC on the MediaPad's BMS needs several charge cycles to calibrate its tracking algorithm against a new cell. The old cell had a known discharge curve; the new HB3S1 does not yet. The gauge is interpolating badly until it has real data. Discharge fully to automatic shutdown twice, charging to 100% between each cycle, and the readings will stabilise.
My MediaPad won't charge above 80% since I swapped in the new battery — it just stops there.
Some MediaPad firmware builds include a charge-limit mode that caps at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress — it's a software setting, not a fault in the HB3S1. Go to Settings > Battery and check whether a charge limit or battery protection mode is enabled. Disabling it restores full charge to the 4.2V termination point and the tablet will reach 100% again.
