Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Eee PC 1008P Series — 10.95V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AP31-1008P)
This is a 10.95V, 2900mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Asus Eee PC 1008KR, 1008P, 1008P-KR, and 1008P-KR-PU17 netbooks. It replaces OEM part numbers AP31-1008P, AP32-1008P, 90-OA1P2B1000Q, and 70-OA1P2B1000. Capacity is 31.76Wh — matching the original cell specification.
- 1008P platform compatibility: The 1008KR and 1008P share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. All listed models run the same 10.95V three-cell Li-Polymer configuration, so one cell revision covers the full range without adapter modifications.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, load, and cutoff on the 1008P platform. The BMS handshake completed without fault codes, charge acceptance reached rated capacity, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold.
- Post-swap recalibration on the Eee PC: After installing, run one full discharge down to the hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the Eee PC 1008P shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
The 1008P's fuel gauge IC retains discharge curve data from the old cell. When the new cell's voltage profile doesn't match that stored map, the IC miscalculates the remaining charge and triggers a forced shutdown well above true empty. This isn't a fault with the new battery — it's a calibration gap. Running two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles resets the stored curve. After calibration, the reported percentage aligns with the actual cell voltage.
BIOS shows "Battery health: poor" immediately after fitting a new cell
The Eee PC BIOS reads health status from EEPROM data written by the previous battery. A new cell arrives with a fresh EEPROM that has no cycle history — the BIOS interprets missing data as a degraded cell and flags it. This clears automatically once the BIOS battery learn cycle completes. Discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption; the health status updates to normal at the end of that first complete cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Eee PC 1008P is reporting the battery Wh as wrong in system info — it shows a different number than the battery label. Is the cell faulty?
It isn't faulty. The Wh figure shown in Windows or the BIOS is pulled from the EEPROM embedded in the battery pack, which stores the rated chemistry specification. The physical cell's actual deliverable energy can differ slightly from that EEPROM value depending on temperature and load conditions. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle and the reported figure will stabilise to within a normal tolerance of 31.76Wh.
The fuel gauge on my 1008KR jumps around wildly — it went from 60% to 15% in minutes without heavy use. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC on this platform needs several full cycles to build an accurate discharge model against the new cell's chemistry. Until it has that data, percentage readings are interpolated from the old cell's stored curve and will be erratic. Run three complete discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles without interruption. After the third cycle, the gauge IC will have enough data points to track the new cell accurately.
New battery installed in the Eee PC 1008P but charge stops and won't go above 80% — charger light stays on but percentage is stuck.
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a battery fault. Some Asus Eee PC units ship with a battery health mode enabled that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell wear during long AC-connected use. Go to the Asus Battery Health Charging utility (or check the BIOS Power settings under Battery Life Cycle Extension) and switch the mode from "Balanced" or "Maximum Lifespan" to "Full Capacity." Charge will then proceed to 100%.
