Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus VivoBook Q301LA-BHI5T02 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (0B200-00580100M)
This is a 7.4V, 5130mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Asus VivoBook Q301LA-BHI5T02 ultrabook. It also fits the VivoBook Q301, Q301L, and S301 series. OEM part numbers are 0B200-00580100M and C21N1309.
- VivoBook Q301 and S301 series compatibility: These models share the same two-cell Li-Polymer pack format, 7.4V voltage rail, and C21N1309 BMS handshake protocol. The connector pinout and physical dimensions are identical across the Q301LA, Q301L, and S301 variants, which is why one cell fits all.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Q301LA unit. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, reported accurate voltage at each state of charge, and the charge controller ramped normally from bulk to taper phase without dropping the cell.
- Post-install calibration on the Q301LA: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on battery only — no AC — then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity, clearing the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell
The Q301LA stores battery health data in EEPROM tied to the original cell's charge history. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads that old data against the fresh cell and flags a health warning — this is a firmware artefact, not a fault with the replacement. The BIOS battery learn cycle is the only fix: discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. After one or two full cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the health warning clears. No BIOS update or third-party tool is needed.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the status bar
This is a voltage cliff symptom. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts — the laptop hits the low-voltage cutoff threshold while the OS still shows 20–30% remaining. It usually means the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles without interruption. If the shutdown point does not shift after two calibration cycles, check the BIOS battery charge threshold setting — on some Q301LA units this is set to 80% by default and can be adjusted under MyASUS or the BIOS power settings.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Q301LA shows "0% available (plugged in, charging)" right after I installed the new battery — is the cell dead?
It is not dead. The fuel gauge IC on the Q301LA reads EEPROM data from the previous cell and loses its reference point when a new pack goes in. The 0% or "unknown" reading is a calibration gap, not a hardware fault. Plug in AC, let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, then run it down to hibernate-cutoff on battery alone — after that full cycle the gauge resets and reads correctly.
Windows is showing 37Wh in Device Manager but the system info screen says something lower — which is right?
The 37.96Wh figure in the product data is the rated capacity of this cell; Windows reads the design capacity value stored in the battery's EEPROM, which can differ slightly from the chemistry's actual delivered watt-hours. A small discrepancy between the two figures is normal and does not indicate a faulty cell. If the reported value is dramatically low — under 20Wh — run one full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycle, which prompts the BIOS to re-read the cell's capacity register and update the displayed figure.
The Q301LA stops charging at exactly 80% every time — the battery never reaches 100%.
This is almost always a BIOS charge limit, not a cell fault. Asus ships some Q301LA units with a battery health charging mode active that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Open the MyASUS application, go to Battery Health Charging, and switch the mode from "Balanced" or "Maximum Lifespan" to "Full Capacity." If MyASUS is not installed, the same setting appears under Advanced in the BIOS power menu — disable the charge ceiling there and the cell will charge to 100%.
