Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus U6 / U6S / U6E Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A32-U6)
This is an 11.1V, 6600mAh Li-ion battery for the Asus U6 ultraportable notebook line. It fits the U6, U6S, U6E, and U6S-X1, among other U6-series variants. The A32-U6 cell slots directly into the original battery bay and connects to the same three-pin charge circuit the U6 platform uses.
- U6-series platform fit: All U6 variants share the same 11.1V three-cell battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. That common architecture is why one cell covers the full U6 lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full-load discharge, and BMS cutoff on U6-series hardware. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold, and charge acceptance was confirmed across all three cell groups.
- First-cycle calibration on the U6: After installing, let the laptop discharge fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This gives the U6's fuel gauge IC a reference point against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in BIOS after every battery swap.
Why the U6 BIOS flags a new battery as poor health immediately after swap
The U6 stores charge-cycle count, capacity history, and health state in the old battery's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, the BIOS reads no matching history and flags the battery as unknown or degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a data mismatch. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS learn cycle will rewrite the health register against the new cell's actual data.
U6 shutting down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when an aged cell can no longer hold voltage under the combined load of the CPU and display — the voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The percentage shown on screen comes from the fuel gauge IC, which is still calculating against old EEPROM data rather than the cell's real voltage curve. After installing a new cell, run two full calibration cycles: discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption each time. By the second cycle the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its curve and the shutdowns at 20–30% stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Asus U6 shows the battery as 0% or "unknown" in Windows immediately after fitting the new cell — is the battery faulty?
It is not a fault with the new cell. The Windows fuel gauge IC is reading stale EEPROM data left behind by the old battery and has no calibration reference for the new cell yet. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one complete cycle the fuel gauge re-registers the cell and the 0% or unknown reading clears.
The Asus U6 BIOS reports the new battery's capacity as lower than the rated 73.26Wh — why does the number look wrong?
The Wh figure the BIOS displays is pulled from the old battery's EEPROM record, not measured directly from the new cell. Until the U6 completes a full learn cycle, the stored Wh value reflects the degraded capacity of the cell you just removed. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS will overwrite the Wh register with data from the new cell.
The replacement battery charges to around 80% and then stops — is the charge circuit faulty?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault in the battery or the charge circuit. Some U6 firmware revisions ship with a charge ceiling set below 100% to reduce cell stress during storage or long AC-connected use. Check the Asus Power4Gear or MyASUS settings in Windows — the charge limit is adjustable there. Set it to 100%, unplug and replug the adapter, and the cell will charge to full.
