Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED UX582LR Series — 15.48V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C42N2008)
This 15.48V, 5650mAh (87.46Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces the C42N2008 cell in the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED UX582LR series. It fits the dual-screen 15-inch OLED notebook lineup, including the BP1979R, H2002TS, H2002R, and LR-1BH2 variants. OEM part numbers covered are C42N2008 and 0B200-03840000.
- UX582LR platform fit: Every model in the UX582LR line shares the same four-cell 15.48V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers 15 or more UX582 variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, load, and BMS communication checks on the UX582 platform. The BMS authenticated correctly, charge termination triggered at the expected voltage ceiling, and thermal sensors reported without error flags.
- Post-install calibration on the ZenBook Pro Duo: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on the UX582 platform.
Why the UX582LR shuts down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge
The ZenBook Pro Duo 15 runs two OLED panels simultaneously alongside a high-TDP CPU — that combined draw can pull the battery voltage down faster than the fuel gauge IC can track. When the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under that full load, the laptop shuts off even though Windows or macOS still reports 20–30% remaining. The fuel gauge IC is reading a charge estimate calibrated to the old cell's degraded discharge curve, not the new cell's. Run two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles to let the IC recalibrate its voltage-to-capacity mapping against the replacement cell.
BIOS reports battery health as "poor" or "replace" immediately after swap
The UX582LR BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, which stores cycle count and state-of-health figures written by the original cell. A new cell arrives with factory EEPROM values that do not match what the BIOS expects from a freshly installed battery, triggering a false poor-health flag. This is a data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. To clear it, run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — after one complete learn cycle, the BIOS recalculates health from live voltage data and the warning clears.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ZenBook Pro Duo shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" in Windows immediately after fitting — what's wrong?
The fuel gauge IC in the UX582LR needs live charge and discharge data to map the new cell's voltage curve before it can report accurately. It is reading stale EEPROM values from the old cell and has not yet built a profile for the replacement. Charge the laptop fully to 100%, then discharge it to hibernate cutoff in one uninterrupted session. After that first complete cycle the fuel gauge IC resets its model and Windows reports a normal percentage.
My ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED stops charging at exactly 80% and won't go higher — is the replacement cell faulty?
The 80% ceiling is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Asus ships the UX582LR with a battery care setting in MyASUS that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long plugged-in sessions. Open the MyASUS app, go to Battery Health Charging, and switch from Balanced Mode to Full Capacity Mode — the laptop will then charge to 100%.
Windows shows this replacement battery as 72Wh or a different Wh figure than the 87.46Wh on the product listing — why the discrepancy?
The Wh figure Windows reports is pulled from the battery's EEPROM, which stores a design-capacity value written at the factory. Some replacement cells ship with EEPROM values reflecting a slightly different chemistry bin or rated-capacity figure, which causes the mismatch in system info. The actual usable energy in the cell matches the 87.46Wh spec — the EEPROM figure is a label, not a live measurement. Run two full calibration cycles and check whether the reported figure updates as the fuel gauge IC builds a fresh discharge profile.
