Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Autel MaxiSys Elite — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (H81225WYQ)

This is a 3.7V 15000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Autel MaxiSys Elite professional automotive diagnostic scanner. It replaces OEM part H81225WYQ (also listed as VK398282PL) and restores main operating power to the unit. Fits the MaxiSys Elite only — confirm your part number before ordering.

  • MaxiSys Elite platform fit: The Elite uses a single large-format Li-Polymer cell to power both the display and the onboard diagnostic processor from one voltage rail. The BMS on this unit monitors cell voltage and temperature independently, so any replacement must match the original cell's internal resistance profile to avoid false low-battery trips mid-session.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the MaxiSys Elite platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, the charge circuit completed normally, and the boot threshold cleared without issue.
  • Vehicle profile export before swap: The MaxiSys Elite stores saved vehicle profiles and session data in memory tied to the main battery. Pull every vehicle profile to the USB or cloud backup before you remove the old cell — that data does not survive a full power loss.

Why the MaxiSys Elite won't boot after a battery swap

The MaxiSys Elite has a minimum boot voltage threshold built into the BMS — if the replacement cell ships below that threshold, the device will not power on at all. This is not a faulty battery or a faulty scanner. A fresh Li-Polymer cell often sits at 3.5V or lower after storage. Connect the unit to the Autel AC adapter and charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on.

WiFi dropping mid-diagnostic session at partial battery charge

The MaxiSys Elite's wireless radio draws a short burst of current whenever it polls vehicle data over WiFi. At cell voltages below roughly 3.6V, that burst causes a momentary voltage sag that the BMS reads as an undervoltage event. The radio drops, and the active session may freeze or lose the vehicle connection. If this happens repeatedly before the battery indicator shows critical, the old cell has degraded beyond useful capacity — replace it and keep the replacement charged above 20% during active use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MaxiSys Elite powers on fine but all my saved vehicle profiles are gone after the battery swap — where did they go?

The MaxiSys Elite holds vehicle profile data in memory that loses power the moment the main battery is disconnected. That data is gone once the cell comes out. Before any future swap, export all profiles to a USB drive or sync them to Autel's cloud backup through the MaxiSys settings menu — that step is the only way to recover them after a power loss.

The MaxiSys Elite screen starts dimming well before the battery indicator reads low — is the new battery faulty?

The display driver on the MaxiSys Elite is voltage-sensitive and begins throttling backlight output before the BMS registers a formal low-battery warning. If this happens on a new cell, the replacement battery may not have been fully charged out of the box. Charge it to 100% on the Autel AC adapter, then retest — if dimming still starts early at a full charge, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a loose connection increases resistance and mimics a low-voltage condition.

The MaxiSys Elite is running the new battery but the WiFi keeps cutting out during a full-vehicle scan — what's causing it?

A full-vehicle scan hits the processor hard and spikes current draw across the board, including the WiFi radio. If the replacement cell's voltage sags under that load, the BMS may momentarily cut power to the radio to protect the cell. Confirm the battery is fully charged before starting a full scan. If drop-outs still occur, check that no other high-draw apps are running in the background on the scanner — close them and restart the scan from the main menu.
