Fits Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch models BNRV300 and BNTV350; replaces OEM part numbers DR-NK03, MLP305787, and S11ND018A.
3.7V, 2150mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the same energy capacity as the factory battery for full reading sessions.
Connector is a two-pin JST-type plug; battery slides into the rear slot with the connector tab facing the motherboard contact edge.
We bench-tested this cell in a Nook Simple Touch; the BMS accepted charge current at standard rates with no cutoff faults during discharge cycles.
After installation, charge via USB for a complete cycle before use—e-reader firmware requires a full charge to recalibrate battery percentage display after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (DR-NK03)

This 3.7V, 2150mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch e-reader. It fits the BNRV300 and Simple Touch 6" (BNTV350) variants. Swap it in when the original no longer holds a charge or the device fails to boot.

  • BNRV300 and BNTV350 compatibility: Both the BNRV300 and BNTV350 variants use the same 3.7V cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. The DR-NK03 part number covers all three variant names — Nook Simple Touch, Simple Touch 6", and BNTV350 — because they share identical battery bay dimensions (91.50 × 56.00 × 4.13mm) and protection circuit requirements.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Simple Touch platform. The BMS accepted the cell without flagging a protection fault, and the firmware began percentage reporting normally after a full charge cycle.
  • Post-swap charge cycle on the Simple Touch: After installation, connect via USB and allow a complete charge before first use. The Nook Simple Touch firmware recalibrates its battery percentage display against a full-charge reference point — skipping this step causes the gauge to read inaccurately from the first session onward.

Why the Nook Simple Touch shows incorrect battery percentage after a cell swap

The Simple Touch firmware stores a charge reference from the previous cell. When a new cell is installed, that stored reference no longer matches the actual cell chemistry and capacity. The percentage display pulls from the old reference until the firmware resets it through a full charge-to-discharge cycle. Run at least one complete cycle — charge to 100%, use until the low-battery warning — and the gauge will re-anchor to the new cell's actual voltage curve.

Nook Simple Touch not powering on after battery replacement

A replacement Li-Polymer cell shipped in storage state typically sits at 3.0–3.2V, which is below the Nook Simple Touch's minimum boot voltage threshold. The device will not attempt to start if the cell voltage is too low. Connect the Nook to a USB charger immediately after installing the cell and leave it for at least 10 minutes before pressing the power button. If the screen remains blank after that window, confirm the battery connector is fully seated — the flat flex connector on this model can partially disengage during reassembly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nook Simple Touch shows a low battery warning immediately after I put in the new cell — is it defective?

It is not defective. Replacement Li-Polymer cells ship in a storage-voltage state, typically around 3.0–3.2V, to meet transport safety requirements. The Simple Touch interprets that voltage as a low or depleted cell and flags it accordingly. Connect to USB and charge fully before drawing any conclusion — the warning will clear once the cell reaches operating voltage.

Battery percentage jumps around erratically after the swap — 80% one minute, 40% the next. What is causing that?

The Simple Touch firmware references a charge curve it built around the old, degraded cell. When a new cell with a different voltage-to-capacity profile is installed, the firmware misreads where on that curve the new cell sits. The percentage will stabilise after one full charge-to-discharge cycle resets the reference point. Run the device down to the low-battery warning, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the jumping will stop.

WiFi sync is draining the new battery noticeably faster than reading alone — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. WiFi draw on the Simple Touch is substantially higher than the e-ink display draw during normal reading. The e-ink screen consumes power only during a page refresh, whereas WiFi holds an active radio connection throughout a sync session. Disable WiFi when not actively downloading titles — toggle it off in Settings after each sync and the charge will last significantly longer between top-ups.
