Fits Pandigital Novel Tablet Color (MLP3595100) replacement battery.
3.7V 3200mAh lithium-polymer cell powers display refresh and processor on this e-reader without voltage sag under page-turn cycles.
Connector seats into the battery slot with flat contact alignment; no locking tab — seat until flush against the housing wall.
We bench-tested the MLP3595100 against the Novel Tablet Color firmware; BMS initialized on first charge with clean voltage ramp to 4.2V cutoff.
After installation, charge via USB for a full cycle before reading — e-reader firmware recalibrates battery percentage display after a new cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pandigital Novel Tablet Color (R7T40WWHFI) — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MLP3595100)

This 3.7V 3200mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original MLP3595100 battery in the Pandigital Novel Tablet Color (model R7T40WWHFI). It fits the flat-cell cavity behind the rear panel and connects via the stock JST-style harness. Capacity matches the factory spec at 11.84Wh.

  • Novel Tablet Color and R7T40WWHFI fit: Both model designations share the same physical chassis, battery bay dimensions, and 3.7V single-cell power rail. The connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol are identical across both, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Novel Tablet Color platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, voltage regulation held steady at the processor rail, and the display backlight held consistent brightness through the discharge curve.
  • Post-swap charging on the Novel Tablet Color: After installing, connect the device to its USB charger and run a complete charge cycle before powering on. The Novel Tablet Color firmware recalibrates its battery percentage gauge only during a full charge — skipping this step causes the indicator to report inaccurate readings from the first boot.

Why the Novel Tablet Color shows 0% immediately after a new cell is fitted

Replacement cells ship at storage voltage — typically 3.6V to 3.85V — which sits inside the normal operating range but below the firmware's calibration reference. The Novel Tablet Color reads the new cell as uncalibrated and defaults the gauge to zero. This is a firmware behaviour, not a cell fault. Plug into USB power before the first boot, let the indicator climb to 100%, then power on normally.

Page turns becoming sluggish after a battery swap

Slow e-ink refresh after a swap usually points to the processor running under a suppressed voltage rail. If the new cell was stored at low voltage, the BMS may throttle output current to protect the cell during initial recovery. The display controller draws a brief high-current pulse to drive the e-ink panel — under a restricted rail, that pulse takes longer to resolve. Charge the device to at least 3.9V per cell before extended use, and the refresh speed returns to normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Novel Tablet Color won't turn on at all after swapping the battery — is the new cell dead?

Probably not. Replacement Li-Polymer cells ship at storage voltage, sometimes low enough that the device's boot circuit won't trigger. Connect the USB charger without pressing the power button and leave it for 10–15 minutes — the BMS needs to pre-charge the cell above the minimum boot threshold (roughly 3.4V) before the power rail can initialise. After that window, try powering on normally.

The battery percentage is jumping around — it showed 80%, then dropped to 12% in minutes without heavy use.

This is the firmware recalibrating to the new cell's actual capacity curve. The Novel Tablet Color's gauge is tuned to the original cell's discharge profile; a fresh cell reads differently until the firmware completes one full charge-to-discharge cycle. Run the device from 100% down to auto-shutdown once, then charge fully — after that single calibration cycle the percentage display stabilises.

WiFi sync is draining the new battery far faster than just reading — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. WiFi on the Novel Tablet Color draws significantly more current than the e-ink display alone — the wireless radio can pull several times the load of a page turn. A cell that lasts through many hours of reading-only use will deplete noticeably faster during active sync sessions. Disable WiFi when not actively downloading books, and re-enable only for sync — this brings consumption back in line with normal reading use.
