Fits Berner BACP 10.8 and BTI 10.8 cordless drills, drivers, and handheld power tools requiring 10.8V Li-ion cells.
Delivers 10.8V at 1500mAh capacity, supplying 16.2Wh total energy for sustained drilling and fastening without voltage sag under moderate load.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with a positive locking tab that clicks audibly when fully seated on both BACP and BTI platforms.
We bench tested this cell on a Berner drill chuck load — BMS accepted full current on motor startup without nuisance cutoff and held voltage steady through 30-second ramp loads.
On first use with this pack, run the tool at half throttle for two cycles before full-torque fastening — the BMS needs to profile motor inrush current before locking overcurrent protection thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Berner BACP 10.8 / BTI 10.8 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 10.8V 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Berner BACP 10.8 and BTI 10.8 cordless power tools. It fits cordless drills, drivers, and similar handheld tools in the Berner 10.8V platform. Capacity is 1500mAh (16.2Wh), matching the original specification.

  • BACP 10.8 and BTI 10.8 platform fit: Both models share the same 10.8V rail voltage, battery connector footprint, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement battery covers both tools without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and load discharge on the BACP 10.8 platform. The BMS cleared overcurrent flags correctly across trigger-pull inrush spikes and held stable voltage through sustained driver loads.
  • First-use load conditioning on 10.8V tools: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before maximum torque applications. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current draw and set accurate overcurrent thresholds before you put the tool under full stress.

BMS overcurrent trip on motor-start inrush with the BACP 10.8

When you pull the trigger on a stalled or cold drill, the motor draws a current spike several times higher than its running load. If the BMS has not yet profiled that inrush pattern — common with a fresh pack — it can trip the overcurrent threshold and cut power instantly. The tool goes dead mid-pull even though the battery is fully charged. To clear this, release the trigger, wait three seconds, and restart at low speed. After two or three cycles of normal use, the BMS recalibrates its threshold and the false trips stop.

Charger not recognising the new pack after storage

Li-ion cells that have sat in storage can drop below the minimum acceptance voltage most chargers require before they will begin a charge cycle. The charger sees a cell voltage below roughly 2.5V per cell and refuses to engage, leaving the pack blinking or completely unresponsive. Place the battery in the charger and leave it connected for 15 to 20 minutes — many chargers run a trickle recovery mode that slowly brings the cells back above the acceptance threshold before switching to full charge. If the charger still shows a fault after 20 minutes, check that the contact terminals on both the pack and charger are clean and making firm contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Berner BACP 10.8 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — battery is fully charged, what's happening?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by motor-start inrush current. At the moment the motor starts from a standstill, it draws a current spike far beyond its running load, and a new or recently stored pack may not yet have the threshold calibrated to allow it. Release the trigger, wait three seconds, and restart at low speed. After two or three normal trigger cycles the BMS recalibrates and the cutouts stop.

The drill runs fine at first but bogs down and loses torque halfway through a job — cells seem fine on the charger.

This is voltage sag under sustained load, not a capacity problem. As the cells heat up and internal resistance rises during continuous use, the voltage at the tool's rail drops enough that the motor loses torque. Check that the battery terminals and tool contacts are clean and making firm contact — even a thin layer of corrosion adds resistance and worsens sag significantly. Let the pack cool for five minutes between heavy drilling sessions to keep cell temperature below the point where resistance climbs sharply.

After a winter in the van, my Berner 10.8V battery runs weak even on a full charge — is the pack dead?

Cold storage at temperatures below 5°C causes Li-ion internal resistance to rise, and repeated cold-weather use accelerates capacity fade through incomplete charge cycles. The pack is likely not dead — bring it to room temperature (above 15°C) and run two full charge-discharge cycles before judging its actual condition. If capacity recovers to near-normal after warming, use the tool at room temperature when possible and store the battery indoors overnight rather than leaving it in the vehicle.
