Fits Bionet BM1 Vet monitor; replaces OEM part numbers BM1-BAT and BN180226.
10.8V 2600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 28.08Wh to sustain continuous vital-sign monitoring during clinic sessions.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a locking tab on the right side; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested the cell on a Bionet BM1 unit; the BMS accepted the new pack after recognizing the cell voltage and completed a full charge cycle without fault flags.
After installation, allow the monitor to complete its power-on self-test without interruption — the device runs BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault that only clears on full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bionet BM1 Vet — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BM1-BAT)

This 10.8V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Bionet BM1 Vet portable veterinary patient monitor. It fits the BM1 Vet directly and matches the OEM voltage rail, capacity, and connector. Use the part number BM1-BAT or BN180226 to confirm compatibility before ordering.

  • BM1 Vet platform fit: The BM1 Vet runs a single battery bay at 10.8V with a BMS handshake that authenticates cell voltage on startup. This pack matches that voltage rail and communicates with the device's charge IC without triggering an authentication fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the BM1 Vet platform. The BMS accepted the cell, completed its verification sequence, and the charge indicator advanced normally through all stages without error flags.
  • Post-swap startup protocol: After installing this battery, let the BM1 Vet complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The device runs a BMS verification check at boot — cutting power mid-sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot from a fully charged state.

BM1 Vet self-test failure after battery swap

The BM1 Vet runs a BMS learn cycle at startup to profile the new cell. A freshly installed Li-ion pack that hasn't completed a full charge-discharge cycle doesn't yet have calibrated capacity data for the device to read. This causes the self-test to flag the battery as unverified or faulted. Run one complete charge to full, then allow the device to discharge under normal use before relying on battery readings in a clinical setting. After that first cycle, the BMS has a baseline and self-test passes cleanly.

Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge

On the first charge, the BM1 Vet's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to a new cell — this is normal behaviour and not a fault. The indicator can stall at 90–95% for an extended period before the charge controller switches to trickle and then terminates. Do not remove the battery early or assume the charge has failed. Leave the device on charge until the indicator confirms full charge completion, typically when the charge LED shifts state or the display reads 100%.

Frequently Asked Questions

The BM1 Vet is showing a low battery alarm right after I fully charged the new battery — is the pack faulty?

This is a BMS threshold issue, not a faulty cell. The BM1 Vet's BMS is calibrated to the OEM cell's charge profile, and a new replacement pack needs one complete charge-discharge cycle before the device can accurately read its state of charge. Run the battery down under normal use, then charge it fully again. After that first full cycle, the low battery alarm threshold aligns correctly and the false alarm stops.

The BM1 Vet won't power on after the new battery sat uninstalled for a few weeks — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack voltage dropped below the BM1 Vet's BMS recovery threshold, the device won't boot. Connect the device to mains power and leave it charging for at least two hours before attempting to power on. The charge IC needs time to trickle-charge the cell back above the recovery threshold — typically around 9V for a 10.8V nominal pack — before the BMS will allow the unit to start.

The BM1 Vet is shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring with the new battery — what's causing this?

New Li-ion cells have slightly higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles, which causes voltage sag under the monitoring device's load profile. If that sag crosses the BMS undervoltage cutoff, the device shuts off as a protection measure. This behaviour reduces noticeably after the cell has been cycled several times. Keep the device on mains power during the first few clinical sessions where possible, and complete at least five full charge-discharge cycles before using the battery as the sole power source in active monitoring.
