Fits Blaupunkt TravelPilot TP300 GPS navigator, replaces OEM part 824850A1S1PMX.
3.7V, 2000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full power to the handheld GPS receiver and display throughout active navigation cycles.
Connector seats flat into the battery compartment with alignment posts; locking tab secures downward to prevent accidental ejection during vehicle use.
We bench-tested this cell in a TP300 unit; BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage steady under sustained GPS-receiver load.
After fitting this battery, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow satellite acquisition before navigation — cold start takes five to ten minutes for initial fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Blaupunkt TravelPilot TP300 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (824850A1S1PMX)

This 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM battery in the Blaupunkt TravelPilot TP300 portable GPS navigator. It matches the original's voltage rail and physical footprint — 52.09 x 48.77 x 8.63mm — so it seats correctly in the battery bay. Capacity is drawn from the product specification, not estimated.

  • TravelPilot TP300 fitment: The TP300 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a specific connector orientation tied to its internal BMS handshake. This cell matches that voltage rail and connector layout, so the unit powers on and communicates charge state normally without triggering a protection fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the TP300 platform, confirming BMS communication, accurate charge-state reporting, and clean cutoff at the low-voltage threshold without premature shutdown.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After any full power removal, the TP300 performs a cold start. Power the unit on outdoors with a clear sky view and allow 5–10 minutes for the first satellite fix — subsequent warm starts will lock in under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the TP300

The TP300's GPS receiver draws consistent current to maintain satellite lock, but when cell voltage drops toward the 3.2–3.3V range, the unit begins reducing receiver sensitivity to protect remaining charge. This shows up as position drift, slower route recalculation, or the unit struggling to maintain lock in areas where it previously had no trouble. It is not a GPS hardware fault — it is a power-management response. Keeping the cell above 3.5V during active navigation avoids this behaviour entirely.

TP300 shutting off without a low-battery warning

After a battery swap, the TP300's charge-level indicator needs a full charge-discharge cycle to recalibrate its voltage-to-percentage mapping. Until that cycle completes, the unit may display three battery bars and then cut off without warning — the shutdown threshold is being hit before the visual indicator catches up. Run one full charge from flat to 100%, then use the device on battery until it powers off on its own. After that cycle, the low-battery warning will appear at the correct point before cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TravelPilot TP300 lost all my saved routes after I fitted the new battery — is that normal?

Yes. The TP300 stores some route and POI data in RAM that requires continuous power to retain. A full battery removal clears that volatile memory, so saved routes and recent destinations are lost on swap. Favourites stored in flash memory should survive — check the Favourites menu first. Re-enter any lost routes manually after the unit completes its first cold-start satellite fix.

The TP300 is taking 8 minutes to find satellites after the battery replacement — was it faster before?

That delay is a cold start, not a fault. When the battery is removed completely, the TP300 loses its cached satellite almanac data, so it has to download fresh orbital data from scratch rather than using a stored snapshot. This takes 5–10 minutes on first use outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the almanac is rebuilt and stored, every subsequent lock happens in under a minute — the long delay will not repeat unless you remove the battery again.

The TP300 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating versus when the screen is off — is the new battery undersized?

The capacity is correct at 2000mAh. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the backlit display simultaneously, which is the highest combined load the TP300 places on the battery. Standby or screen-off use draws a fraction of that. Reducing screen brightness in the display settings is the single most effective way to extend use between charges — the GPS receiver draw is fixed, but display brightness is adjustable and accounts for a significant share of the active-navigation load.
