Fits BLU Studio 5.5, D610, D610A, D610i models; replaces OEM part C746440225T.
3.7V, 1900mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full charge cycles to the fuel gauge IC.
Connector slides into the internal battery slot with flat contact orientation and locking tab.
We ran discharge cycles on the BMS circuit; cutoff held stable at 3.0V per cell.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging enabled — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Studio 5.5 / D610 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (C746440225T)

This is a 3.7V, 1900mAh Li-ion cell for the BLU Studio 5.5 smartphone, covering models D610, D610A, and D610i. It replaces the original C746440225T battery when the cell no longer holds a useful charge. Dimensions are 73.80 × 64.10 × 4.40mm — measure your original before installing if you are unsure which variant you have.

  • D610 model family compatibility: The D610, D610A, and D610i share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full discharge and charge sequence on the D610 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V with no false-positive cutoffs during the test cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one slow cycle gives the coulomb counter accurate reference data before any high-current charge session.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Studio 5.5

This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks at full brightness, load current spikes and cell voltage drops sharply. If the cell cannot sustain voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold during that spike, the phone shuts off even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. Running one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge lets the coulomb counter remap the actual low-voltage boundary of the new cell, which typically pushes the shutdown point below 10%.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after the cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell in its internal registers. After a swap, those stored values do not match the new cell's chemistry profile, so the percentage reading drifts or jumps — especially below 40% and above 85%. The fix is one complete cycle: drain the phone until it powers off automatically, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the cable. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell and the percentage stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BLU Studio 5.5 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months with the new battery installed — is the battery dead?

The BMS has most likely tripped into lockout because the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will allow normal operation. If the charge LED does not show any sign of life after 45 minutes on the wall adapter, the cell has discharged too deeply to recover and a replacement cell is needed.

Fast charging stopped working after I put in the replacement battery on my D610 — the phone charges but only at slow speed now.

The USB-PD or MediaTek Pump Express handshake on the first charge cycle sometimes does not complete correctly when the BMS is initialising against a new cell. The protocol requires the charge IC to read cell impedance before it negotiates a higher voltage from the adapter. Drain the phone to shutdown naturally, then charge it fully on the original wall adapter — not a third-party fast charger. After one complete slow cycle, reconnect your fast charger and the protocol negotiation should complete normally.

The BLU Studio 5.5 feels warm near the back where the battery sits during the first few charges — is that normal with a new cell?

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, and the extra energy dissipates as heat during the first few cycles. The warmth should reduce noticeably by the third full charge. If the back becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — or if the phone throttles performance during charging, stop the charge session and check that the battery connector is fully seated flat against the board with no debris under the contacts.
