Fits JCB Toughphone Tradesman 2 and replaces OEM battery part number 300D006018F.
This 3.7V, 1200mAh cell delivers the same capacity as the original—sufficient for a full workday on the rugged jobsite phone.
Battery slides into the rear slot with a single locking tab; connector is a standard two-pin JST positioned at the top edge.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the Tradesman 2 housing—BMS accepted the cell immediately, no fault delay, fuel gauge initialized at 100%.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging in phone settings for one complete discharge-charge cycle; this lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JCB Toughphone Tradesman 2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (300D006018F)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the JCB Toughphone Tradesman 2 (TP127). It fits the same connector and footprint as the original 300D006018F cell. If your Tradesman 2 shuts down unexpectedly, loses charge quickly, or won't power on, this is the direct cell replacement.

  • Toughphone Tradesman 2 / TP127 fitment: All three model names — Tradesman 2, Tradesman Two, and TP127 — refer to the same handset. They share an identical battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, so one cell covers all variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the 300D006018F replacement through full charge and load cycles on the TP127 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without a protection-trip fault, and the charge IC completed a full CC/CV cycle cleanly.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve for the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Tradesman 2 after a cell swap

The Tradesman 2 is built for site use — screen brightness, GPS, and LTE modem all draw current simultaneously under normal conditions. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can report 25% remaining while the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the BMS cutoff threshold under that combined load. The phone shuts off not because the cell is faulty, but because the fuel gauge is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve. One full discharge-recharge cycle resets the coulomb counter and resolves this.

Phone not turning on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the 300D006018F cell has dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charging to prevent damage. The phone will show no charge indicator and appear completely dead. Connect it to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tradesman 2 shows 25% battery and then cuts off with no warning — is the replacement cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. This is a voltage cliff: under the combined load of the LTE modem, GPS, and screen, the cell voltage drops sharply at low charge states, hitting the BMS cutoff before the fuel gauge registers zero. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage reading lags behind actual voltage. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% — the coulomb counter will remap to the new cell and the early shutdowns will stop.

The battery percentage on my Tradesman 2 jumps around or reads incorrectly after I fitted the new cell — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the previous cell. A new cell with different internal impedance causes the IC to report inaccurate percentages until it recalibrates. This is normal and not a sign of a faulty battery. Do one complete discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge; after that cycle the percentage readings will stabilise.

My Tradesman 2 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — should I be concerned?

A new high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes the same constant-current phase into a cell with higher resistance, which produces more heat until the cell's internal impedance settles. If the phone stays warm but not hot-to-touch and charging completes normally, this is expected behaviour for the first two or three cycles. If it becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect it and check that the replacement cell matches the 300D006018F spec at 3.7V.
