Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BlueWalker mini Media Center — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1050mAh (3.89Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the BlueWalker mini Media Center. The mini Media Center is a compact portable device for storing and viewing photos and videos. When the original cell loses capacity or fails to hold charge, this replacement restores normal operation.
- mini Media Center fit: The mini Media Center uses a single flat Li-ion cell at 3.7V nominal. This replacement matches the original cell's voltage rail, physical footprint (52.92 × 33.78 × 5.48mm), and connector orientation — the device's power circuit will draw from it without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, held steady voltage through the mid-discharge range, and hit the low-voltage cutoff cleanly without erratic shutdown behaviour.
- First-use charge cycle on the mini Media Center: Connect the device to its OEM charger and run one complete charge cycle before heavy use. Some portable media device BMS controllers need a full charge pass to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator to the new cell's discharge curve accurately.
Battery percentage jumping or freezing on the mini Media Center display
The mini Media Center maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds set during factory calibration with the original cell. A new replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve, so the device's fuel gauge can misread state of charge — showing jumps, stalls, or sudden drops that don't reflect actual capacity. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault in the replacement cell. Run two to three full charge-to-empty cycles and the indicator typically stabilises as the BMS learns the new cell's curve.
mini Media Center powering off before battery indicator reaches zero
If the device shuts down while the indicator still shows charge remaining, the BMS low-voltage cutoff is triggering before the display catches up — common when the fuel gauge is still calibrated to the old cell's degraded curve. The BMS protects the cell by cutting power at around 3.0V, which can appear premature on the screen. Charge the device fully, then run it down to auto-shutoff twice without interruption. After those cycles, the cutoff point and the displayed percentage should align more closely.

Frequently Asked Questions
My mini Media Center shows a full charge on screen but dies almost immediately after unplugging — is the new battery faulty?
This is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a bad cell. The device's battery indicator was mapped to the old cell's degraded discharge curve, so it reads "full" based on stale thresholds. Run the device from a full charge down to auto-shutoff twice without interrupting the cycle. After those two passes, the displayed charge level and actual cell capacity will align — you'll see the indicator drop at a rate that matches real remaining power.
The mini Media Center battery percentage drops sharply from around 30% then the device shuts off — what's happening?
The voltage drop at the low end of a fresh Li-ion cell is steeper than the BMS expects based on the old cell's profile. When voltage falls below approximately 3.0V, the BMS triggers a hard cutoff before the percentage display reaches zero. This looks like a sudden cliff at 20–30% on screen. Cycle the battery fully twice and the BMS will re-map its cutoff point more accurately to the new cell's actual low-voltage threshold.
The mini Media Center gets noticeably warm during long video playback on the new battery — is that normal?
Sustained video playback draws continuous current for the screen backlight, processor decoding, and storage reads simultaneously. On a fresh cell that can deliver full rated current, that combined load produces more heat than a partially degraded original cell would. Warmth on the device body during extended playback is expected. If the device becomes hot to the touch or shuts itself down mid-playback, break sessions into shorter intervals to allow the processor and cell to cool between uses.
