Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (ICP445573P)
This 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM ICP445573P cell in the Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G. It fits the exact footprint at 76.50 × 56.80 × 5.10mm. Swap it in when your original cell no longer holds charge through a normal day.
- Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G fit: The ICP445573P is a single-cell Li-Polymer pack with a fixed connector and BMS pinout matched to the Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G charge IC. Any cell going in must match the 3.7V nominal rail — a voltage mismatch trips the protection circuit before the phone even boots.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS handled end-of-charge termination cleanly at 4.2V and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold without latching the pack into lockout.
- First cycle after installation: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state — which is the main cause of erratic percentage readings in the first few days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC in the Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When the modem radio or display draws a burst of current, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC predicts — the phone sees that as a critical battery event and shuts down. One full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by a full charge lets the coulomb counter reset its end-point estimate. After that cycle, shutdowns in the 20–30% range should stop.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a conditioned cell. The charge IC compensates by running at a higher voltage differential, which produces more heat than usual during the first two or three cycles. This is a temporary condition — internal resistance drops as the cell conditions. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and let it cool to room temperature before resuming; keep the first charges on a 5W supply, not a fast charger.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has gone into deep-discharge lockout. Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell, the protection circuit locks output to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a 5W charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell before the BMS releases the lockout. If the battery icon appears within that window, let it charge to at least 15% before booting.
The battery percentage on my Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G keeps jumping around erratically — it reads 60%, then drops to 40%, then climbs back up without charging.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve — it still has the old cell's model loaded. Erratic jumps are the coulomb counter trying to reconcile measured voltage against a curve that no longer matches. Run one complete discharge from 100% down to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off. That full cycle gives the IC enough data to rebuild an accurate state-of-charge model, and the jumping should stop after one or two complete cycles.
Fast charging stopped working on my Brondi SMARTPHONE 4G after I installed the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 5W charging because the new BMS hasn't completed its handshake with the phone's charging protocol. This is normal behaviour — the IC is being cautious with an uncalibrated cell. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Most users see fast charge resume on the second or third connection once the BMS has logged its first complete charge cycle.
