Fits Honor Magic 5 Lite, RMO-NX3, X9a 5G, and RMO-NX1 models; replaces OEM HB506492EFW battery.
3.87V and 5000mAh capacity restores full daily charge cycles after degradation from normal use.
Connector sits flush against the battery contact pads with no locking tab; orientation marked on cell.
We bench-tested the cell on a Magic 5 Lite fuel gauge IC; BMS accepted charge protocol on cycle one.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell curve before USB-PD pushes current into an uncalibrated BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honor Magic 5 Lite / X9a 5G — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB506492EFW)

This is a 5000mAh, 3.87V lithium-polymer battery for the Honor Magic 5 Lite, X9a 5G, RMO-NX3, and RMO-NX1 smartphones. It replaces part number HB506492EFW and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity is 19.35Wh, matching the factory cell specification.

  • Magic 5 Lite and X9a 5G platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — HB506492EFW covers all four variants listed above. The 89.20 x 63.10 x 4.90mm cell slots directly into each.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Magic 5 Lite. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, and the charge IC handed off to the USB-PD negotiation stack correctly after the first complete cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — preventing early percentage jumps or false full-charge readings.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Magic 5 Lite after a cell swap

The Magic 5 Lite's modem and display draw significant current during peak load. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance curve can hit a voltage floor the BMS reads as critical before the percentage gauge catches up. The phone shuts down not because the cell is empty, but because voltage sags below the 3.2V cutoff under that load spike. One full slow-charge discharge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter so the reported percentage aligns with actual cell capacity. After that cycle, the shutdowns stop.

USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

After fitting a new HB506492EFW cell, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard 5V charging on the first cycle rather than negotiating the higher USB-PD voltage. This happens because the BMS on a fresh cell starts in a conservative mode until it registers one complete charge event. Connect to the original Honor charger and let the first charge run to 100% without interruption. Fast charging resumes normally from the second cycle onward — no settings change required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my Honor Magic 5 Lite showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new HB506492EFW cell?

The fuel gauge IC inside the phone was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When a new 5000mAh cell goes in, the IC's stored curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour, so it reads percentage from the wrong reference points. Run one complete cycle — drain the phone until it powers off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets its baseline and the percentage tracks accurately.

The replacement battery is making the phone noticeably warm near the back during the first few charges — is something wrong?

A new lithium-polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been through several hundred cycles. The charge IC pushes the same current into a higher-resistance cell, and the extra energy dissipates as heat. This is normal for the first three to five charge cycles as the cell conditions. Keep the phone out of a case during those early charges so heat can dissipate, and avoid charging on fabric surfaces. Warmth drops off noticeably once the cell has cycled a few times.

My Honor X9a 5G won't power on at all after the new battery sat in storage for a few weeks before I fitted it — what do I do?

If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and blocks normal charging to protect the cell. Plug the phone into the original Honor charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a reduced rate to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage climbs above 3.0V, the BMS releases and normal charging resumes. If the screen stays dark after 30 minutes, try a different cable before assuming a fault.
