Fits BT Elements 1K cordless phone handset, replaces OEM part 043048.
3.7V 650mAh lithium-ion cell delivers rated capacity across talk and standby cycles on DECT platform.
Connector seats vertically into handset battery slot with positive terminal facing upward; locking tab secures pack flush against housing.
Bench testing confirmed BMS accepts base station charge circuit on first insertion; voltage stabilizes within two charge cycles.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Li-ion packs in DECT phones require slow initial charging to calibrate the handset's fuel gauge circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BT Elements 1K — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (043048)

This is a 3.7V 650mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the BT Elements 1K cordless DECT handset. It fits directly into the handset battery compartment and restores wireless operation when the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification (043048).

  • Elements 1K handset compatibility: The Elements 1K uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with the 043048 footprint. The BMS in the handset reads cell voltage on contact — a cell outside the acceptance window will prevent the handset from powering on, so voltage tolerance matters here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, completed a full charge cycle without error, and held resting voltage within spec after a 24-hour standby period.
  • First charge on the Elements 1K: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base station and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage-state charge need a complete first cycle to calibrate the handset's fuel gauge accurately.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting a new cell

A new Li-ion cell fresh from storage will often show reduced talk time on the first one or two cycles. This happens because the cell hasn't completed a full charge-discharge cycle and the handset's internal gauge is reading from an uncalibrated baseline. Run two or three complete cycles — full charge in the base, then use until the handset warns low — and talk time will normalise. After three cycles the cell should be delivering its rated 650mAh.

Handset loses its DECT pairing after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to volatile memory, which can erase the stored pairing with the base station. The Elements 1K will show "searching" or fail to register on the network after a cold battery swap. To re-pair, hold the registration button on the base station until it enters pairing mode, then follow the handset menu to re-register. The process takes under two minutes and the handset retains the same internal number as before.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BT Elements 1K handset is showing full bars on the base but draining completely overnight — is the new battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't sitting flush in the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a clean connection and the handset runs on battery instead of charging. Remove the handset, check the gold contacts on both the handset and cradle for debris, reseat it firmly, and confirm the charge indicator light comes on solid. A properly seated Elements 1K on charge should hold above 4.1V overnight.

The base station charge light is flashing or showing an error after I fitted the replacement battery — what's wrong?

A new Li-ion cell arrives at storage voltage, typically around 3.6–3.7V. Some base stations interpret this low resting voltage as a fault and flash an error rather than starting a charge cycle. Leave the handset seated in the base for 30 minutes without removing it — the charger circuit will usually begin a trickle charge once it detects a stable load. If the error persists, remove the battery, refit it, and reseat the handset to force the base to re-detect the cell.

The Elements 1K cuts out or drops calls when I move away from the base — did the battery swap affect the range?

Range drop after a battery swap points to voltage sag under RF transmit load. When a Li-ion cell is new and hasn't completed a full charge cycle, its available voltage under load sits lower than rated. The DECT radio in the Elements 1K draws a sharp current spike each time it transmits, and a partially charged cell can't sustain the voltage needed to maintain the RF link at distance. Charge the handset fully — confirmed by the charge light turning off or going solid green — then test range again.
