Fits Canon FS10, FS11, FS100, VIXIA HF G10 and 34 additional models; replaces BP-808 battery pack.
7.4V, 890mAh capacity delivers sustained power for video recording and flash recycling on compact flash camcorders.
Connector slides straight into battery slot with positive contacts facing inward; locking tab seats flush against camera body.
We bench-tested the BMS across full discharge cycles; the cell held voltage stability through flash-heavy shooting sequences without early cutoff.
On first install in the FS10 body, run one complete charge cycle through the camera before sustained video recording to allow the firmware battery-remaining display to calibrate to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Canon FS10 / VIXIA HF G10 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-808)

This is a 7.4V, 890mAh Li-ion replacement for the Canon BP-808 battery. It fits the FS10, FS11, FS100, VIXIA HF G10, and over 34 additional Canon camcorder and compact camera models. Voltage and cell chemistry match OEM spec exactly.

  • FS and VIXIA series compatibility: These Canon bodies share the same battery bay geometry, 7.4V rail, and BP-808 BMS handshake. The connector pinout is identical across the FS10 through the VIXIA HF G10, so one cell works across the entire platform without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a Canon FS10 body and monitored BMS communication at each charge stage. The protection circuit responded correctly to full-charge cutoff and low-voltage shutoff, with no false trip during continuous video recording draws.
  • First-use charge cycle on Canon bodies: Insert the battery and charge it fully inside the Canon body or OEM charger before your first recording session. Canon's BMS maps its battery-remaining display against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read incorrectly from the first use.

Canon BMS rejecting a third-party BP-808 on first install

Some Canon FS and VIXIA bodies perform an authentication check when a new cell is seated. If the body has not previously logged the cell, it may display a battery warning or refuse to power on entirely. This is not a defective cell — it is the body's BMS initialisation sequence. Charge the battery fully via the OEM charger or directly in the camera body, then power cycle the camera. After one complete charge cycle, the body registers the cell and the warning clears.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the FS10 display

Canon's fuel gauge maps voltage thresholds against a discharge curve calibrated to the original BP-808 cell. A new replacement cell may have a slightly different discharge curve at mid-range, causing the indicator to skip segments or jump between readings. This does not mean the cell is faulty — actual capacity is unaffected. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles in the camera body to allow the BMS to recalibrate its threshold mapping, and the display will stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Canon FS10 shows a blinking battery icon and won't record even with a brand new replacement — what's happening?

The FS10's BMS runs an authentication check on any cell it hasn't logged before, and a blinking icon is its way of flagging an unrecognised battery. This is not a sign of a dead or wrong cell. Place the battery in the OEM Canon charger and run it to a full charge before inserting it into the body. One complete charge cycle from the charger is usually enough for the body to accept the cell and clear the warning.

The battery percentage on my Canon FS100 is jumping around — it reads 80%, then drops to 40% within a minute of recording. Is the cell defective?

The Canon battery indicator maps voltage drop against a factory discharge curve, and a new cell's curve can sit slightly outside that mapped range at certain points. The percentage readout loses accuracy at mid-charge until the BMS has seen enough cycles to recalibrate. Run the cell through two full charge-and-discharge cycles entirely in the camera body. After that, the indicator tracks the actual state of charge much more closely.

My Canon VIXIA HF G10 gets noticeably warm during long video sessions and the battery drains faster than I'd expect — is that normal?

Sustained video recording pulls current from three simultaneous loads — the image sensor, the image processor, and the optical image stabiliser if active. That combined draw is significantly higher than playback or standby, and the camera body warming up is normal under that load. The higher draw rate also means the cell depletes faster than Canon's rated shot count suggests, since shot count figures are based on intermittent capture, not continuous recording. If stabilisation is on and not needed, switching it off reduces draw and extends recording time per charge.
